Censorship in Erotic chat

I have been coming to lit for almost a year now. For the most part, i rarely bitch about the bs that goes on there, but i'm going to now. I have a HUGE problem with my words being censored. I am an adult in an Adult erotic chat room and yet i can't say whore without being replaced by butterfly??? what the hell is that?? now, im not one to sit and call people whore or cunt or whatever but damnit, i should have the right if i so choose. I realize that the word is offense to some, but i have to say here that if you are offended by the word whore or cunt or whatever it may be, then you might want to take a look at where you are...you are in EROTIC SEX CHAT!!!! We are not the moral police, it is not up to the powers that be to control what can and cannot be said in the chat room. If i find something offensive, which is rare *grins at those readers that know me* i redline, thats what its there for. I certainly would not ask anyone to censor the WHOLE chat room cause I find something offensive. ok, that said, i love my time at lit, i have made great friends here and I would like to continue coming here, but i have to say, if censorship is what i'll find, its time to move on.

There's no censorship happening in Lit chat. Something was reset at Digichat, which reset people's personal settings, changing it so ChatWatch was automatically "on" on all profiles.. Contact Ksss and she'll tell you how to reset your settings.

Thank you, Mischka. I was going to post *yawn- here we go again*. But your post said what I was thinking much better.

Last time I tried to point out that chat is very different and very separate from the bb, I was skewered for being a "bb snob." My opinion hasn't changed though. I don't give a crap about the chat section of Lit. It could fall off the face of the earth tomorrow and I wouldn't miss it, because I never go there.

Of course, if chatters still want to whine on the bb, they are as welcome as anyone else. They just can't expect all the bb people to jump up and down and be irate with them about whatever it is they are irate about this time.

As discussed with Laurel before, I turned the chatwatch on due to people coming in the room and disrupting it with comments such as..."You sand nigger loving whore/cunt" , "You people are fucking cunt loving arab lovers", etc. Once things calm down in the room I will be more than happy to turn the chatwatch off.

Unfortunately, this started occuring right after the bombing, and as people were already upset, I felt it best to NOT have to be bothered with mindless assholes who thought their rights to freedom of speech meant they were able to abuse the chatters who are in the chatroom for "nice" chatting.

I'm sorry you feel this way and if Laurel would like (as it is HER chatroom) I will turn the chatwatch off. I was just trying to think of the feelings of the chatters.

ksss, i do understand that, i really do. If chat watch is needed for that reason then so be it, i won't argue that point... but again, i just have to say, that i love that redline button, for just that reason...we all have the power to use it..it really should be as simple as that.

You know guys, im really not trying to be a bitch here, i swear If ksss thinks that the chat watch is needed, who am i to say otherwise, I'll support her. but think about this...even negative attention, is attention...the people that the chat watch is enabled for have gotten the attention they sought...would it not have been better to do the only thing you can do in such a situation...redline.
