People have recently told me that alot of people boycott the celebrity genre. So I was just wondering, which celebrity stories do people actually like. Ie, is well written and not too fanish.

Normally I'd say check the toplist for the stories with the most votes and best scores...but that's a bit tough with Celebrities - there's one goose who keeps messing with the lists.
He 1-bombs all stories above his own to boost their ratings
Makes it hard to work out what goes over well.

I don't read the celebrity category. Why? I have no interest in celebrities, I find them neither interesting, or erotic. I mean both the stories, and the celebrities themselves.

I'm not interested in celebrities either, and I feel a bit odd about trying to write real people into my stories.
I do have three stories in the category - they're fanfics using characters from shows.

The real problem with FanFic is two fold...

1. They stretch the fabric of reality. They are all pretty much the same bullshit - Selma Hyak can't wait to get in your pants.

2. 99% of them are just some totally stupid (see #1 above) fantasy with some faceless character who happens to have the same name as some celeb. But this faceless character is nothing like the celeb at all in actions, speech, mannerisms, etc.

It's fucking boring has hell.

What drk and Jenny say.

Just to add:

- Real celebs are boring and two-dimensional (think of those acceptance speeches and interviews). They only come alive when someone puts words in their mouths and someone else tells them how to react and behave. Which film role of theirs are you going to pick.

- Characters from shows/movies are more rounded but terribly constricting for a writer because there can be no character development or surprises. We already know the protag t0o well. Just comes down to a TV character having sex. Yawn!

Why make life harder for yourself?
