To post a story in the celebrity section, do you have to name names? Or could you use something like...The Worst Fuck of My Life Was a Rock Star? I am sure about half the readers would guess who from the story description, but I would rather not include his name, the name of his band or direct references to his songs.

You could do that. You can even make up your own rock star if you wanted to.

I'm no expert, but I think TGP is wrong.

Celebs is a category for stories about real-life celebs or pastiches on characters in films or on TV. Look at the Lit disclaimer at the top of each celeb story.

As soon as you move to fictional (and original) characters, you are free to go to any category you want.

Rock stars, film idols, TV personalities - if they are your fictional creation you can stick them in non-consent or non-erotic.

Celebs category covers real people and characters that other writers have a copyright over.

Yep. Elfin is correct.

Just because something can go into another category doesn't mean that it can't go into this one.

There used to be something in the FAQs and official documentation about this that agreed with me, but I can't find it anymore. :(

That might be true for the majority of the categories, but I'm not sure it applies to Celebrities. That category solely exists for stories about real people who are celebrities and characters from stories/movies, etc. A story about a fictional celebrity wouldn't belong there.

OK, if I HAVE to name names I might as well make it fun. So I am trying to work ALL Bon Jovi's song titles into the story.
