3.olsen twins- yes they are 16 or 17 but why not use some poetic license and put the story in the no so distant future or if you must say after thier 18th birthday

4.7th heaven- the two oldest girls are in college. don't include the youngest.

I like the don't ask don't tell policy on age when possible. you don't have to be real specific, if you say highschool not what year of school it to the reader.
why not write in the disclamer that all persons in the story at of legal age.

The problem I see with this method is that most people don't include standard disclaimers with their stories. Without stating an age, that highschool girl could be anywhere from 14 - 19 years old. Better to fix an age and play by the rules than to try to circumvent them.

i have always wondered why stories on this site do not contain disclaimers specific to the author. any suggestions? maybe its because it will put off readers?

Read a post on the site relating the fact that the FBI are currently trawling these sites for underage sex stories.Better not to leave the lines blurred and either set a disclaimer or make the celebrities age clearly self evident as over eighteen.

I heartily agree that paedos need weeding out but ask a fisherman...harmless dolphins sometimes get caught up in the nets.

I just don't understand why one feels the need to skirt around the age issue. Why do you feel the "need" to say she was in high school instead of saying she was a senior in high school or she was 18. Why make "hints" that she "could be" younger?



And, why do you "need" to write a story about a celeb who IS currently a minor, but the story claims it takes place in 2010?? Wouldn't the author or reader still be lusting after a minor if his/her CURRENT age is under 18?

It's a state law, and it's rather ishy anyway. There's lots of gray areas concerning age of conset in the U.S. Like, Nebraska's (where I live) age of consent is 16. BUT, if a 16 or 17 year old had sex with a man over 18, the parents of the girl could press statutory rape charges on the adult.

Again the discussion leads away from the topic. Wasn't it about celeb/incest? I don't see anything wrong in a britney does her mother/father story or anything like that.

Okay, what's up with the specific "She was exactly 18 to the day" ideas? If she's in high school, it leaves it open. The reason I like to leave it open is because some of my characters are under 18 (not the ones posted on lit), but then I also wrote a lot of erotica before I was 18.

I would never want to write or read on something as young as a 14-year old, but if we can write stories about rape, alien sex, faeries and 18-person orgies in the bible belt in a public park, is it wrong to say "she was in high school" letting the reader decide if he wants her to be 18 or *gasp* 17 or 16?

Following the rules of this site keeps Lit out of trouble. Sure, right now there is some "talk" about persons under 18 in sexual acts NOT being kiddie porn, but no one here seems certain what all this means yet. I was under the impression from a friend that it was not kiddie porn when portrayed in cinema, not net written erotica. Yet, others at Lit think they have the government go-ahead to write persons under 18 in sexual acts.

Bottom line about the con kiddie porn erotica people here is that it is Lit's rule to NOT allow it. Why can't you all respect the wishes of Laurel? We are very lucky to have such a wonderful, free site to visit!
