This is a question for a technical boffin.I have a copy cd(Not original) of a bootleg live gig.I have tried to copy it for a friend as it is unavailable to buy but it is coded or something.Anyone know how to copy a coded disc or any ideas at all.It won't even let me MP3 it!

Cheers...Wyatt

try using easy cd creator 5 (that's what i use )
or a differant mp3 ripper loads out there as freeware or shareware but as a last resort record them as .wav files then convert to mp3 to burn it. The draw back with .wav files is they take up loads of room on your hd

Cheers. Will try the wav files.Use easy cd,clone and nero.No luck on any yet.Think they may have used some kind of overburn to stop copying.I am a bit miffed as the original CD is of a bootleg concert anyway!

Use a DVD Ripper to pull the tracks off the CD. That'll bypass nearly all overburning and coding techniques. (It can still be done, but its really expensive, so its rare)
I recommend SmartRipper, I've used it before, and It'll even burn the new CDs that are coming out now that are supposed to be copy/burn-proof.
You can try getting SmartRipper by looking it up on the net, or if you have Kazaa, download it from there, that's where I got mine.
