Somehow, some way or another, my cats have gotten a frog into the house! I didn't know what was they were after until the damn thing jumped right on my foot. They're still chasing it around everywhere and I can't catch it either.

doormouse mumbles something about stupid cats and scampers back to her hole ;-)

Well, at least they don't present thier trophy kills to you while you are in bed. GROSS.

Oh, they've done that occasionally. I figure they haven't done that with the frog because they haven't caught it yet. I think it might have gotten out and escpaed. I certainly hope so.

(sneaks back out... eeps at being surrounded by cats >^..^< )

Great story, pagan!

One of our kitties is a serious hunter - an actual farm cat. The others are a bit clueless but Jonesey can catch and kill anything (I saw him take down a bird in flight once).

We attached a dog kennel to our house with access from a basement window. It makes an excellent enclosed cat run; the cats can get outside yet still be safe.

Anyway, during cicada season (ick) the kitties have lots of fun with those big buzzing annoying insects. They crunch very loudly when eaten by a cat. But one night Jonesey came running upstairs, his mouth half open, loud buzzing coming from within, and we realized he was bringing one inside.

He took it to the kitchen, dropped it on the floor, and started to play soccer. My husband sat next to him with the purpose of getting rid of the bug. Jonesey looked over and then batted it to him - "Wanna play?"

So my husband did. The two of them played catch with this poor, wet, bedraggled cicada for a long time. Then Jonesey had enough and he ate it. Crunch, crunch. Ick again.

My husband felt honored to be invited to join the game. But I'm just hoping in August - Sept when the bugs come out in force again we don't have anymore in the house!!!

Hey if you do let your cat catch them! My cat catches the flies and stuff in my apartment and I don't need a fly swatter! And a piece of advice don't let your husband play with the cat when it has a bug the cat will remember and come back with more bugs to play with in the house....

Our cat did that with a mouse one time. Normally she just kills 'em, and presents us with dinner (in her mind), but this time she brought a live one in the house and played with it.

In the course of two weeks my cat brought me 2 mice and 2 birds. She's quite the hunter! Of course, she always deposits them on the front step, so that upon opening the door I'm surprised with her little gory "gifts."

:D

I was just thinking of you, Cloudy. I've got a fluffly, sweet, little gray kitten with white spots on her upper chest and lower belly. I thought I might name her Cloudy. :)

When my fluffy little sweet got white spots on her lower belly I sent her to the doctor!
