Cats or dogs? Both? Neither?

There is no "obligatory other" because I'm interested in cats vs dogs. You don't hear people say "oh I'm a fish person" but people do seem to "identify" with cats or dogs - me, I'm a "cat person."

Feel free to mention, though, if you REALLY REALLY LOVE turtles, guinea pigs, iguanas, etc. :)

I like both, though cats win out by a margin. I can see myself having some kind of dog, it's not out of the question. I'm not one of those cat people for whom all dogs are drooling idiot beasts.

I also like birds, but I would never have one unless it were a rescue, and I know what they take and I don't have it in me.

My cat knows when M is going to walk in and he's at the door and makes a little yapping sound. I think he was raised with a dog before we got him.

Both, but neither care whether I exist or not unless it's feeding time. The only one who acknowledges my existence is my horse, and he chases my truck up the road until the fence ends.

Love dogs.

I wish I could say I love all creatures great and small, the little dears, such adorable balls of fur, not their fault if they're born wired to act like arrogant pricks. But the truth is that I've never seen a domestic cat I didn't loathe. Though of course, I've never met Netzach's, which sounds pretty cool.

I do love turtles and iguanas, but only in the wild. Neutral on guinea pigs; not sure I've ever seen one in real life.

And DGE - I lol'd.

The real question is did you switch to a water gun?

While I like almost all animals, I tend to get along with and communicate better with dogs than cats. We just get each other's personalities. :)

A lot of commercial dungeons in NYC had a house cat or sometimes a small psychotic dog that one of the missy's would bring in if she were running the house herself or something. But the coolest one I ever set foot in - by far - had two iguanas as the house critters.

The lady in question was from the DR or PR originally (I forget which) and missed them so bad.

If we're only going cats or dogs, cats win. Gotta give it to them, they know who's the pet, and it isn't the cute furry critter.

Overall though, I love rabbits and reptiles. :D

I've only had cats but I like dogs too.

I've had 7 different cats since I was little and each one had their own unique personality.

Probably not as much as the iguanas miss the tropics.

They are extremely cool-looking animals. Were they climbing the walls, or kept in cages?

Since I can't have horses in the house, I have to stick with dogs. Being that I can't have any pets at all in the apartment, I stick with the stray cats. I've gotten three of them adopted out. Takes a bit of patience to tame them, but its all good.

I did get a tattoo of my recently deceased Akita above my heart. I still miss him.

I know it's not the most correct of choices but I wasn't about to lecture her, I was renting from her.

Some of each. There was a VERY long hallway down which they took exercise often, and a massive tank with fake sunlight.

I've been having a lot of want a doggie moments lately - this must be how most women my age get around the idea of babies - anyway, I started researching breeds, not that I'd get a purebred necessarily if I were going to get a dog.

It's weird because both M and T were doing fantasy dog breed selection as well atg the same time.

I determined that I should never have a min pin from researching them for about a half hour. Cute, though. I also learned that min pins are in fact an older breed than Dobermans, who have no part in the making of the smaller dog.

Cats.

My cats are so not aloof like many people think cats are. They are all about their people.

:rose:

Lecturing never works anyway. Exotic pet people are exotic pet people, and there's not a damn thing anyone can do about it.

Relatively speaking, sounds like those iguanas had it pretty good.

The people that infuriate me are people buying black market silver foxes from Russia or keeping bengal tigers in NYC apartments (real)
