Casting/Reluctant Heroes

Am looking to start a superheroes thread, and yes, I am aware there are a couple ongoing at the moment. The difference here, is none of the characters will start as superheroes. Rather all are regular joes (and/or janes) going about their regular lives when suddenly they are yanked into another place to be turned into supers whether they want to be or not. The rest of the plot will unravel after that, but I wanted to test the water for interest level on this thread before opening it. Sex may be involved at some time, and I have no objection to that, but this is a story-thread, not a wham/bam/thank you mam. If interested, please post a character, both in regular form and super abilities/any shape/material changes that occur post change.

Note: ANY past is welcome, but your old self might just be something you cannot return to.

Thsi characters are going to be changed from normal humans into superhumans or are they being taken to another place as in world, dimension, etc..., also wanted to know how much would their appearence would change...

They will be changed from normal humans into super humans, why and where will be shown in the thread. Now, how much they change is entirely up to you. This will be a prototyped artificial way of changing people, so feel free to add some negative traits, including, but not limited to, dependencies, deformities, appearance changes, psychological problems etc. Note this is NOT mandatory - if you wish to keep them looking and acting like perfectly normal humans you CAN - you can even refuse to aid the beings who change you, but then the reason for the change might just land on that characters head...

Past; he’s in the speshil forces in the military trained to be dropt alone deep in enemy territory and cos caos.

Looks; 7 feet 250 ponds of chizeld mussel black fur all over his body and his face looks feline has retractable claws on fingers making it hard for hem to do deliget tasks with her fingers.
Powers; inhanst sighs speed strength hearing agility can make him self hard to see.

Been watching this.. and thinking.. would like to give it a go... like the idea of having a "normal human" character to be worked on to produce the superhero....

I think I'd like to play an honest human who is an asset because of her job or role or physique and forcibly changed into a superhuman. The change will consequently corrupt her and bring about a reversal in personality.

Thats as far as the little grey cells have got thus far. Let me know if that sounds workable

Sounds fine, DM - and you know you're always welcome on my threads. I'll get a start made on the IC thread as soon as I see the remaining three of you post characters. We have 4 (possibly 5 if I run a super) now, which is enough to be starting with. However, if others want to join, post here within the first few posts and you'll be able to. It will be obvious once the roles are closed: basically it's when the change occurs.

Oh, one note to match something I said before. NOTHING wrong with playing a corrupt person, even in your superform. The 'beings' (not saying whether they are human or not) who change you cannot or will not force you to go along with their plan when you're changed. However, something major is about to kick off, and refusing to work to prevent it will not prevent it... if that makes sense. Think of it like this - if there's a storm coming, you can batten down the hatches or go sunbathe - but being caught outside with an insecure house when a hurricane hits may not be the best choice....

Grows up since she's your 'plain jane' never got into anything more sporty than the chess club. Her 'boyfriend' for a time only dated her in return favor of her helping him pass trig so he could stay on the football team.

After change:

Blazer
no change in relitive size other than she gains a little more of a 'feminine' shape. Still wears glasses.
Eyes change color according to mood hair is blazing fire red.

Abilities:

Fire, she can create, conduct, and shape fire. Either put out large fires or make blazing infurnos. Often controled by her moods, take awhile before she can controle them.

Absolutely fine, Lacewing. Oh, just to throw another spanner intot he works: characters can be from ANY nation on earth - the beings involved will be looking for the humans MOST CAPABLE of withstanding the change - so if anyone wants to play someone not from america that's fine, anyone who doesn't say will be assumed to be american (simply because thats where most of the posters live). I guess we're starting to get women outnumbering guys here, if any guys want in feel free to hop in (or if any of the women wanna play a guy).

LOL actually makes sense having more girls than guys. Girls geneticly are usualy stronger and able to handle more than guys. That double X chromasome lol *thus speaks the chick who watches too much discovery*

Well, the xx genetic make-up of women makes it harder for women to contract sex-linked genetic defects, this is true... but there are other things which affect significantly higher numbers of women than men (SLE - Lupus - being one example). However, I was just thinking of gender-balance in thread. Not something that's necessary, but something some people like to see in case things get sexual. In one thread I was have been in a male complained slightly that it was him and 4 female characters.

Anyhoo... not a problem, just noticed it was so.

LOL yea and guys have certain genetic problems that hit them more prevelently as well. So it suck no matter which sex you are though women have a higher pain tollerance than men. Plus if the changes are genetic often it's the woman's genes that are more likely to carry the greater chance of the changes in genetics to carry on to new ofspring.

AH, you're assuming they care about these individuals offspring? Heh... gonna enjoy this one I think. Like I say, just waiting on our other two (or at least one of them) writers to post a char and I'll set the ball running. Anyone wanna be non-US?

I dunno, Belgium and Britain were both taken by the teuton/nordic lot I think, not so surprising. Besides, that puts you right near Denmark and I'm chuffed as all heck about them after this morning.

LOL no it's not personal BF, it's only that Blazer came out of my own comics. But since my revamp she's one of the charactors that got canned. Basicly she was so overhauled she resembled nothing like the original.

Actually I just realised one thing I might not have made clear: currently there are NO supers known anywhere in this thread. This change is the first time anyone will know about them outside of comicbooks.
