Well its been a while since I would try and get another thread off its feet and to be honest I am sort of dissapointed all of my threads never got off their feet or died very quickly.Well not one to give up easily,I decided to sit down and try to get some more threads out there,to see if anyone would like to jump in and write with me.
This new thread I am trying to get out there is called The Return of the Titans,as you can see.Now I have been a fan of Greek mythology since I was a little boy and I have done some recent,indepth research on Greek mythology for a college class of mine and I have learn some pretty intresting facts about the Greek culture and greek mythology.Ancient Greece was one of the most sexually liberal cultures in the world,only rivaled by Japan.
So I started thinking and started talking to a couple of people and it came to me that,why not make a thread where the writers were allowed to take on the persona of one of the gods and live a day in there shoes.If you thought the greeks were liberal sexually,look at the gods and goddesses of Greek mythology.They are all fucking each other,fucking mortal and just doing whatever they please,you know how it is: When you a god,your not going to be inclined to listen to anyone.Now I ask for a little bit of leniency in the fact that the players won't be able create their own characters and most greek gods in Mythology have semi set personalities.
I decided since everyone doesn't know a lot about Greek mythology,I would make a list of the common Greek gods and a little bit about them.The only god whos not allowed to be played is Zues because hes the father of the gods and I don't want any conflicts between players because one person is trying to boss everyone around:
Aphrodite:The goddess of beauty and love,she is the most beautiful goddess.She enjoys being a flirt and teasing the hearts of men and gods alike.
Apollo:God of Prophecies,Archery and Music,brother of Artemis.A nice god that is sort of younger,yet wise.He prides on his archery ability and loves playing a turtle shell lute.
Ares:God of war.Hardcore kind of guy that loves picking fights and conflict.Has a thing for Aphrodite in most stories and is considered the biggest bully ever.(Played by TheScarletBlade)
Artemis:Goddess of the hunt and protector of women.Twin sister to Apollo.She sort of hates most men yet loves her father Zues and her brother.
Athena: Goddess of wisedom and war,she is a wise and strategy like person.She always is wearing armor with her sword and has a owl.Is the main rival of Ares.
Demeter: The goddess of Agiculture.A nice wholesome sort of woman that cares a lot for nature.
Dionysus:God of wine.A real big partier.He can turn water to wine and makes merry a lot.
Eros: God of sex,love and desire.A man that loves his image and is a hardcore stud.He has a bow with a gold arrow that makes you love the closet person to you and a lead arrow that makes you hate the person you love.
Hephaestus: Blacksmith of the gods and creator of fine weapons.Is extremely ugly though and is sort of outcasted by the gods.Is a cripple as well.Married to Aphrodite,after winning her hand in a bet,yet she is never really faithful to him.
Hera: Goddess of marriage,protector of married women and wife of Zeus.Is a hard core bitch,really doesn't like many people is insanely envy of all the girls that Zeus gets it on with.
Hermes: messanger of the gods,with winged boots that allow him to get around quickly.Faithful and loyal to most gods and goddess and carry their messages to gods and mortals alike.
Hades:Lord of the underworld.Seen as a dark figure and sort of scary.Hes the brother of Zeus and gaurds the river styx and watches over the dead and judges them.
Poseidon:Lord of all the seas,brother of zeus and a sort of angry man most times.
There are a few others but those are most of the main gods.Now to get into the story.The greeks believed that before there was earth their was chaos.Then from the Chaos came Gaia,mother earth, and Uranus,lord of the sky.They had sex and made the earth.They spawned Cronos,lord of the titans and all of the other Titans.There were thirteen titans in all.Cronos heard a prophecy that one of his sons would over thrown him from his place of power.So every time his wife/sister Rhea had a baby,he would eat them.After eating a couple of his kids,his wife hid away one baby:Zeus.Zeus grew strong and like the prophecy said
ver threw his father.With the help of his brothers Poseidon and Hades,they banished all of the Titans,beings far stronger then the gods yet they were defeated.Zeus,Poseidon and Hades split up the world: Zeus would become king of the god,Poseidon the sea and Hades the god of the underworld.Its been mybe a couple hundred years and all of the gods and goddess above have been brought into divinity.
The central story yet the thread is loosely based around it is the return of the Titans,later on in the thread,the titans escape and try to take back Mt.Olympius(Where the gods lived).Thats not until later though,the first part of the thread is about the adventures of the gods and goddess' of Mt.Olympius.If your intrested,be sure to just say what god or goddess you want to play and well sign you up.Us this as a OOC board for this thread.
