It is the aftermath of World War 3. The super-powers of the world declared war on each other in an attempt to control the dwindling fossil resources of the world. Armies of regular soldiers, conscripts, and mercenaries from all sides went into the front lines. Sabotours and assassins went in behind the lines. The war went on.

And on, and on, and on.

There was no victor.

In the end, a new city was constructed with one purpose - to be the new world government. That city was called Olympus. It's population is comprised of approxomatly 50% humans, and 50% bioroids, and all it's systems are run by a supercomputer called Gaia. It is from here that the human race attempts to salvage it's future.

But even in this supposed paradise, with all it's wanders and social order, there is still dissent within the city. Terrorists occasionally strike against the bioroid govenment, causing the cities premier defence force, the police outfit E.S.W.A.T to hunt them down.

And outside, across the globe, small pockets of soldiers fight in a non-existant war...

***************************

OK! Well, there's your background! It's kinda breif, I know, but I don't recall everything of the main story. The basics to think of is that is is "heaven" inside the city of Olympus, and "hell" outside in the ruins of the world. Still, plenty of scope for characterisation!

And, as you may have guessed, there are two 'races' on Earth - humans and bioroids.

Humans are just that. Regular folks. The level of technology available to them are a little higher than those today. For example, bionics are in use for replacement of damaged limbs, personal bodyarmour has evolved to be semi-resistant to solid ammunition, and tanks are lighter, faster, and with deadlier weapons.

Bioroids are genetically engeneered humans that have lessened emotions of anger, hatread, and love. Of course, that doesn't mean they don't feel them, just that they tend to look at them from an intellectual level. As far as the world knows, bioroids are only found in Olympus. Due to their modified genetic makeup, bioroids undergo periodic life extension treatments, keeping them at the peak of health for as long as they desire.

Humans in Olympus, as opposed to those outside, have access to even greater levels of technology, including readily available personal mecha-armour termed 'landmates'. These are compleatly sealed environment armour suits about twice the height of a human with reinforced armour, limited anti-grav systems for faster land movement, and built-in weapons.

Anyway, that's enough background for now. If anyone's interested and has questions, post them up! Also, if you want to submit a character, just say who they are, what they are, what sort of profession they lead, and a breif description

Malcolm

OK HERES MY CHARACTER.

Malcolm MacDonald
Bioroid
7'
300 pounds of muscle
Chief of police, head of ESWAT
180 years old, looks 40

Malcolm was one of the first people to be bioengineered, and he liked it. he has run eswat with a calm, but iron fist. he is single, by choice, but a lover of many.

cool character!

Name: Susan Thresher
Human
5'4"
athletic build
E.S.W.A.T. officer, landmate devision
29

Susan was picked out from the 'outside' and braught into Olympus to act as part of E.S.W.A.T. Unfortunatly, she harbours a distaste of biroids, believeing them to be arrogant, and coddle humanity. That is why she has not managed to progress beyond basic officer level in over 2 years. Tends to hang out in Hitomi's, a club run by a member of the administration for humans

Lauren MaKrey
Human
5'7 brunette with blue eyes.

Owns the only nightclub in Olympus, House of the Gods. Even in the most pleasureable place there has to be some soft of entertainmnet. Lauren made her way to where she was by pinching ans scraping ans stepping on some toes. She was used to catering to a wide variety of people as well as a few bioroids. Mostly, she kept to herself. She was neither kind nor unforgiving but loved the life she led in Olympus.

She had for many years searched for her place in this world. She was an outcast of sorts. Most women generally let her walk her own path. Men wanted her, those that had that once in a lifetime chance usually got just that. On any given night, she could be seen watching from the balcony as the members of E S W A T came in and out of her club watching.

Is this okey for a character or do I need to tweak it up a bit?

Hey, that's fine by my Mystic! A moonlighting nightclub owner by the sounds of things! Havn't seen one of those in a whale 'y'all'

And you want to know more, Razor? Fine. Well, as it seems mostly this is going to be set in Olympus, I'll tell you about that. It's a large, hi-tech city situated on the coastline of an unafilliated country. From above t looks like a practical eden, bristling with towerblock, hanging arboretums, and gardens. In it's centre are two huge, slanted semi-circular buildings called Tarterous and Daedelous wich house Gaia, as well as other places. Terterous is home to the bioroid life extension centre, ande Daedelous has a viral tank stored at it's top called D-Tank. Very few know what it's true purpose is, and those are not talking.

Every day life is like you'd expect in any metroplis: people go to and from their jobs every day, and try to lead their lives as best they know how. Bioroids, the facilitators of peace and harmony, do their best to prevent any unneccisary loss of human life. However, certain humans are growing more and more aggressive toward the bioroids and Gaia, believing that the bioroids want to control humanity and make them slaves. After all, they reason, why are only bioroids in the highest escelons of govenment?

There are two militaristic forces in Olympus designed to deal with insurrectionists and military threats. The first is the Olympus Regular Army - humans who have gone into armed service either because they were prefessional soldiers from the outside, or could find no other way of life for themselves. The second is E.S.W.A.T - the mobile armoured police force. Made up of both humans and bioroids, their members are hand-picked from a number of sources and put through rigerous special-ops training to ensure they are ready for any eventuality. They are under the direct command of the Legislature, and it's prime minister, Athena

Just curious, we gonna do this? I like the idea. Just waiting on the go ahead from the higher ups!!

would, say, an android be an acceptible character? or better yet, a genetically altered human?

Hey, sorry about that Mystic! Just no a hell of alot of intrest. But yeah, I'll get an IC started up.

Androids are acceptable in Olympus, razor. Although they tend to be special-ops types and assassins. Genetically altered humans? Well, in effect, that's what Bioroids are. Genetic egeneering is still a relativly new process, as in Olympus they have only just begun work on 3rd generation Bioroids. Besides the usual steroids and bionic enhancements, there are no genetic humans in existance.

hmm....ok, i think i have an idea

Name: Xeno Sturman
Age: 25
6'3"
Black hair, red eyes, lean, muscular body.
ESWAT
Xeno's origins are a little strange. He is the first purely engineered Bioroid. Not altered, his DNA was written from scratch. He is also enhanced by a biomechanical suit of armor, also experimental. He joined ESWAT days ago, and hopes to see action soon.

I see. A project started by Dr Gillian that has just reached fruition of it's own, eh? Oh, I huess you probably don't know, so I'll tell ya. Dr Gillian is the person who designed the First Generation Bioroids, including Athena (prime minister of the Administration) She also happens to be the mother of Deunan Neute (a local heroine and ESWAT officer)

i didn't know much else to do, so i went with that...it works well, if you think of it

indeed it does! Just remember that, although they have the numbers and gear, ESWAT is a peacekeeping force, and more reactive than proactive

of course...but he may end up abandoning them and going to the light side :p

no, i mean the people outside ....usually it's the army/police that are the bad guys, right?

Normally. The military is run by humans, so is open to violence and stuff. ESWAT is run by bioroids who try to keep society stable

I'll set up an IC thread in a bit. Sorry about the delay people, but it's been unusually hot where I am, and heat+me=lethargy

Just stick up a character, DF, and start posting (once the IC is up, of course)
