The year is 69 A.D. and the Roman Empire is slowly stabalizing after nearly eight months of brutal civil war. The death of Nero, and the end of his despotic rule, has left the great emperor Titus Vespasian the task of rebuilding and restabalizing the civilized rule. Taking the name of Ceaser, in order to gain empathy amongst the terrified and unsettled Roman Populace, his first order of duty is to unify the divided Roman Military Machine.

This thread, if supported by interested and talented writers, will take place during one of the most tense summers in Roman history. We will be taking liberties with some established historical fact, but for the most part, my goal is to believably create a tragic, erotic moment in what could have been Roman History.

And now, a brief introduction to the characters.

General Antoninus Pious - Beloved Commander of the 5th Legion
Responsible for the Roman Empire's northern most border, and stationed mainly in what is now the Ardenne's Forest, Pious is a pure blooded Roman who hails from the capital city itself. Battle hardened, and loyal to the throne and Roman State, Pious did not involve himself during the civil war that followed Nero's death. Instead, keeping his legion far north, he awaited the crowning of the new emperor. Respected throughout the ranks, and known for his ability to remember nearly every face, and every name he is exposed to, it's easy for everyone to overlook the endless brutality with which he governs. He is a cold and cruel man. Unmarried, he is known to have several slaves and mistresses to sate him. Any children he has fathered are illegitimate. As a warrior he is feared by all, and known to be tremendously strong, and sure of foot.

Captain Severus Terrasious - Commander of the 5th Legion's Calvary [ Played by Light Ice]
His original name is Tuk Ad Lait, and despite his high rank, bares no blood ties to Rome. Infact, only four years in the Legion, his introduction to the man who now thinks of as a surrogate father came at the business end of a blade. Originally a Norseman, Tuk was mortally wounded by the Goths on an ill fated Viking raid. Cared for, and absorbed into their society as a slave, he was forced into their armies. After a devestating defeat, he was once again wounded, and this time taken as a Roman slave and absorbed into their legions. After several battles, it became clear to the commanders that Tuk was more intelligent than the barbarians he had fought for. A loner, he remained at the outskirts of the citizen tents while on marches, and taught himself Latin, Greek, and Egyptian from ear. Loyal to the civilized world, and therefore rome, his blond hair and boyish looks make it easy for him to pass as a roman citizen. It is Pious, his father figure and mentor, who has passed him off as a Citizen, and therefore violated Roman law.

General Apollodorus Dorinithius - Commander of the 8th Legion
Another native of Rome, Apollodorus is in command of the Roman Empire's Eastern Border. This border, in the last thirty years, has seen more organized resistance than any other. The Persian Empire, as well as other small armed forces, have continued to mount invasions into the Roman territories. Considered by many in Rome to be the most brilliant tactician of their day, he carries great respect amongst his men. During the civil war, Apollodorus sent two regiments to Rome in order to surpress public disent. He fully supported Vespasian's claim to the throne, though less for the man, and more for himself. Able to see Vespasian as the most likely candidate, by gambling and allying himself with the victor, he has become trusted and rewarded beyond any other of his rank. Married to a beautiful egyptian noble, named Nazfurati, he is entirely oblivious to her infidelity. She is, however, not oblivious to his own.
