I'm putting together a thread for a small group, maximum 6 players. I'm stressing productive posts from writers who will stay with the thread.

The premise will be simple. Greater Evil below (Trolls) will resurface after centuries of banishment, released by an unknowing translation read late one evening. Lesser Evil (Humans) begin to see slight changes as the trolls assimilate thier lifestyles and eventually them.

I'm looking for ideas from there, plots and counterplots that will work together to an eventual climax (did I say climax?) ending...

PM me with those and if you would like to write with us, there are two positions filled, one troll and one human so far.

I'll post the positions and roles as they are filled, the plots/counterplots will be known only to me and the originator of it.

As soon as we have a workable bunch we'll kick it off...

*a gentle bump from a womanly hip*

Ahhh...my favoite Dread Prince returns with another tale of monsters and mayhem? Trolls...evil humans and other nasties, I assume. Sounds divinely dark. I'd be pleased to play along with you Bart.

I'll give this a bump so that others may find their way to the
forrest.

Kit

Thank You Lady Kit

We still have openings for two trolls and two humans;)

I'd like to keep it an even number of male and female characters for the obvious reasons, but everything else goes

Cool

Male or Female, Troll or Human?

Welcome to TrollWood! Toss out a character and PM me with any ideas for a subplot

We're halfway there!

Of Course

Welcome Lady Angel, Choose your character...Other then the librarian the possibilites are endless, perhaps something that ties with the Library??? A teacher, female professor at the local university?

PM me with any questions, I'll be happy to work with your imagination:) And watch out for Lady Kit, she's a devil in disguise of another angel as well;)

I believe we no need a female and male troll and we're ready to begin.

We can all post our characters to this thread if you don't mind and toss around any ideas we'd all like to see in it. I'd like to keep the plots "secret"...Not forever but until each character has time to develop and the trolls intentions become obvious...

Thanks Again all and Lady K for the bump;)

Slance are you with us dude?:D

Me? A devil? *batting lashes* Why sir, how you do go on, and you with a name like "Black Bart" *tsk..tsk :D

Wecome, Welcome!! It's a pleasure to meet everyone. Pay no attention to Bart. I'm perfectly harmless, and sooo easy to get along with, just ask anyone...well, maybe not anyone. There was that nasty incident with the IRS agent, and the dry cleaner who just runined my best suit...and the butcher, I swear the steak that got home was Not the one I picked from the case...oh and the....well never mind, it was only a little crash, hardly any blood at all. So you see, I'm just as nice as can be.

I'l put up my character within the next 24 hours. Don't want you to leave without me.

I'd be willing to play a troll unless the position has been filled already! Just let me know.

Emily Wiggenhorn is a 35-year-old Librarian. She holds multiple degrees in literature and information science. Her special fields of interest are ancient texts and supernatural events & beings.

She is 5’8” tall but looks a bit shorter due to a habitual slouch that she believes hides breasts that she considers overlarge. Her body, except for the “overlarge” breasts, is willowy and lithe, a fact that she camouflages with baggy jackets, loose pants, and bulky sweaters. Her hair, which hangs in a long shag over her ears, is a rich nutty brown; her skin is pale and resists tanning even after prolonged exposure to the sun. Large framed glasses conceal almond shaped and slightly tilted leaf green eyes, but the eyes are not her only unique feature. A close examination of the ears she keeps hidden beneath brown locks would reveal a distinct taper starting from the middle of the outer ear and ending in a delicate point at the top.

When the position of chief librarian at the Trollwood Park Public Library became available 6 months ago, Emily jumped at the opportunity. She was not drawn by the pay, which was more generous than one might expect; nor was it the beautiful location; she took the position in order to have unlimited access to a private collection of ancient texts not available to the public or even to degreed researchers. The texts chronicle the history of the city and of the area before the city was born. They are also rumored to cover many local superstitions and legends, including the alleged last battle between good and evil.

Emily comes from a family of dreamers and artists; beautiful people that some would call “fey.” After years of being force fed the family belief that they carry blood that is not human, she has made it her personal mission to expose the world of legend and myth to the cold light of science.

She should have recalled her Shakespeare and taken to heart the words of Hamlet. “There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.”

WELCOME Lady Pendragon, The female troll is yours!!! And thanks for joining our troop!

Hmmmmm, Slance me thinks I see a pattern developing here.

Three ladies bearing the tiltle and just us two, poor defenseless, well behaved gentlemen...;)

Lady Kit, The title Black Bart was chosen for a noble roll (here comes a slight bit of boring Lit history) I used it originally for a role in a pirate thread when I first started rp'ing...And haven't had the heart to put it back in davey joneses locker yet....

Good character posts Slance and Lady Kit, I'll get mine out there next...Lady Angel how's it going with your character???

We're one male cast member short yet, But to keep this moving I'll post the opening and a short background, then we can begin!!!

Thanks Again All, Lets all have fun and take a good run with this one!

Darwinia is my characters name, but before we get started, are the TROLLs like humans that have been undergroud forever or are they actually green and slimy and ugly looking?

Legend of TrollWood Park

Legend tells us that it was the mid 1500's... the Pilgrims were coming in droves to the new land...Along with thier families they brought the christian faith and the natural distrust for anything not fully understood or known.

Before the great "witch hunts" in Salem a lesser one occured in the wooded area now called TrollWood. A small gathering of pilgrims had just survived thier first year in the new world and now found they had neighbors in the heavily wooded forest by which they had placed thier homes.

The "neighbors" were human enough, dressed in clothing fashioned from the skins of animals, intelligent, tall, well shaped and with a lust for life....and with an endless ambition for "pranks". These pranks in themselves were harmless enough, a farm animal would appear in the second floor of the "town hall"...All the dogs and cats in the tiny village would suddenly appear in the "mayors" bedroom at once....The dresses of the leading women of the church were found hanging on the clothes line painted a brilliant red...

Again each was harmless enough, but of increasing annoyance and soon felt to be an insult to the leaders of the church...Witchcraft they began to call it, a double crime in the christian faith, heresy and harmful magic...A meeting was called, the town leaders and the Priest...and a decision was quietly made, the "woods peoples" must be punished...severely and the lands they held in the forests would become the property of those town leaders, in payment for the grievous injuries they had suffered.

A second meeting was called under the guise of a feast...A feast for the "woods people" to welcome them as neighbors of the pilgrims. Large amounts of food and drink were served, the towns people holding back from tasting either with the excuse of making sure the woods people had their fill. Soon sleep overcame the men and women of the woods and thier sleeping bodies were gathered, then placed inside a large circle of blood...When they awoke they found themselves in another world...A cavern deep within the bowels of the earth, cruel and dark...So unlike the fragrant and free woods they had lived in for so long...Time passed and the woods people adapted, no longer merry...no longer full of mischief....But instead full of anger and the thirst for revenge, when they escaped the eternal hell they had been banished to...They used the time they were "banished" developing the natural abilities they had, increasing the power from mere prankster use to those more suited to aid them in thier revenge...

The towns people celebrated joy fully, the priest was made a hero...The incantations he had used were recorded and sealed away carefully, then hidden in the basement of the town hall. The woods people were deemed less than human and named "trolls" and as prosperity set and time moved forward the name of the town became known as TrollWood Park... .

Hope the above helps....And a little more????

The time is now modern day....The legend is regarded as a quaint fairy tale, told to the children to get them to behave...."Mind your manners or the trolls will return and take you away"...

The town of TrollWood is and ideal place to live in modern day. Prosperity is still with the inhabitants, the streets full of smiling faces content and happy with life as they shop in the numerous shop and stores bunched along the city streets...A river flows past the town and into the woods and has been the source of many hours of pleasant past time as lovers boat down it and into the fragrant, fruit tree filled woods. Life is good....

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

My character description...Dale is a male troll, 6 foot, lean, skin now paled by the lack of exposure to sunlight, eyes dark brown with black hair that trails over a set of wide shoulders. High cheekbones and full lips hide the anger and hatred that has accumulated for the last 450 years, though the eyes will tell all if you get close enough to look into them.

Ok, my character then. Darwinia, brown hair, blue eyes, 5'6" Not heavy by any means, but very muscular.

She has a cut on her forehead that has been there as long as she can remember. Her parents say it was placed there by a human woman who tried to bat her away from the city. So she has developed a very bad taste of humans.

Her father disappeared trying to find a route to the upper world. Which only feuls her hatrid.

Beow.
A male troll, 6 foot and change, not heavyset, but very muscular. Something of a jock look, with some goth thrown in for good measure. Pale skin, clear blue eyes, and tuffs of long brown curly hair.
Some days he can be seen scratching against the rocks until his hands grew bloody. Other days he would be in a simple dazed state, not bothering to eat or even clean himself.
Since he left the wood he has thought of nothing else.... that is, except for the people who did it to him.
Around 500 years old, even he has forgotte, or perhaps at this point, he just doesn't care.

Excellent!

Welcome aboard Poohlive! I called you a good writer, I was wrong...Excellent is the correct word!

Thread goes up tonight and then the intrigue starts....Lady K? Your sweet little librarian makes a wonderful discovery????

Looking forward to this and THANK YOU ALL!

Ok, Bart...I've done my best, hope it works for everyone!

Can't wait to see where this one goes.

Alright, I made due.. Hopefully I got it right BB

Character info:

Rachel Matthews
22
5'7" Redhead, Blue eyes. Small build.
Durring the summer she is an emergency technician (dispatch for the Ambulance) and durring the school year attends the local college for nothing in particular just yet. She is a loner but has a few friends. Has a tiny bit of knowledge of self defense but not much since her older brother when into the Marines. her mother is a waitress at the diner and her father ran off to be a muscian. Never seen him again. Generally happy by nature and full of life, much to my dismay she's mostly a nieve innocent girl in a woman's body. Too trusting and guilible, but we'll see how that goes.

Excellent SweetP, simply perfect...Seems the naive young lady is going to let curiousity get the better of her, hmmm?

Slance, Good post as well...But be careful your character doesn't get too curious as well;)
