It sucks. It really does. Surprisingly it has nothing to do with the computer and everything to do with 70 pound bags of mini packages that come at me for six hours a night, and picking them up with one arm and lifting them to the conveyor belt is a constant, mindless motion.

Yeah it sucks :( I feel your pain, believe me... although for me, it's ALL typing!

Mine was either caused by video games, typing, masturbation, or a combination of all three. I never got to the bottom of it, but it stopped as soon as I learned how to be ambidextrous :catroar:

Thank goodness I don't have any symptoms related to masturbation (I can't even imagine what I'd do to compensate  ).

I've got it (or something similar) related to my playing in the joint of my index finger. I've pulled away from playing guitar almost completely. :( Luckily, I can play bass with it, so I'm not giving up. It hurt so bad last week, I was taping my fingers together to keep it from moving (typing was really interesting  ). I'll be getting new insurance soon and hopefully there is something they can do about it.

Hope you feel better soon, Trinique. :rose:

Selena, if you cut back to 10 or 15 stories a week, you'd probably be OK. :p

You Gal's sure it's CT and not Repetative Stress (I don't imply anything by that observation ;) ) CT is characterised by numbness, pins and needles, and sometimes, trigger thumb. The exercises for CT are largely useless, the op. is simple, the SO had her's (on both wrists - at different times) under a local anestetic and watched the whole thing on video. :D

It worked pretty well, though she subsequently managed to break both wrists, on seperate occassions, and has different hand problems to contend with.

That sounds a very likely cause. Surely that means that your employer should bear some, if not all of the medical costs?

I've got it in my left wrist, caused mostly by my relentless crocheting of blankets (most for Pine Ridge).

You guys are suffering way too much. I am a physical therapist and I work in a hand clinic here in Texas. Unfortunately, I see and hear these complaints most of the day. Most times, the answer is right in front of your face but we all need to be told sometimes. Yes, even me! Anyway, feel free to ask me any specifics. I've also had to overcome my own uphill battles. :)
