And thank you KillerMuffin for letting us know. That was terrible news. I know how dangerous it can be...since I jog also. I hope that Caroline recovers from her injuries very fast and that she is able to keep her spirits up. My best wishes are with Caroline :rose: :rose: :rose:

Thank you to KillerMuffin for making this thread here, and thanks to James Blandings for letting me know about it.
If all goes well, Caroline will be released from the hospital Wednesday or Thursday, and I know she is anxious to rejoin you.
On her behalf and my own, thank you all for your kindness and concern.

She will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers. I'm hoping that she will make a full recovery as soon as possible and that there will be no complications. She is a very sweet lady and deserves the best

Thank you Sam, for keeping us posted.

Thaqnks, Muff, for posting the link here. Like everyone, i'm deeply sorry this happened to Caroline. Like others, i'm concerned on another front, too.

Caroline had just had her first caning experience not even a week before this accident. Canes leave bad bruises. If she had to go to the ER after the accident (and it sounds as if she did, according to Sam's post), i wonder if the caning bruises caused her any trouble there? They would have been a week old already - definitely not "fresh bruise" looking. Additionally, caning bruises are unmistakeably *not* falling-down-on-your-butt bruises, for instance.

What does one say - or one's partner - if a non-BDSM accident requires an ER trip and they ask, there, about older BDSM-related marks?

Caroline, you're in my thoughts.
Be well soon.

I tell the truth when I'm asked where my bruises come from. My answer: " Good old fashioned rough sex. It's what I like so it's what WE do." This answer usually gets me raised eyebrows to which I say "Don't ask unless you want to really really know because I'm not going to lie about it" I've never had anyone continue the conversation after that point. But then again...I'm odd.

Caroline get well soon. I'm thinking of you.

Best wishes to Carolyn for a speedy recovery. And I think lilfrk has the right answer to cym's q.... tell just enough of the truth to send them packin'.

i don't post often, but do read and will keep Caroline in my thoughts and prayers.

On the subject of bruising, if she had additional injuries in the area, they might mask the old bruises. i would think it would be more of a red flag if you went in with a non-injury related problem. i liked lilfrk 's answer though, but i'm not sure i'm brave enough to use it. i tend to try my best to avoid the dr. when i have bruising, but then that is not always possible.

I like lilfrks answer also :D

I like lilfrk's answer, too.
Think i'll steal it, should the need arise.
Imitation...the sincerest form of flattery...

Since my doc knows all about my sexuality, this has become a relievedly non-stressful thing for me.

Still sending good thoughts to Caroline...and hoping this doesn't interfere in a major way with her work. Those who hire caterers can often be uniformly upset at the idea that, for whatever reason, thier event isn't going to be catered as they'd planned. It sounds cold but it's the truth; i've lived around such self-involved people all my life. And then there will be the matter of returning monies already paid for events planned, events Caroline might already have purchased food for...

Bless you all for your kindness.
The amount of caring from this group of poeple has been overwhelminmg.I will answer all the questons later. I can only sit up enough to type a little at a time.
My love to you all

Thank you for linking that KM, if anyone wants the details of my accident, I told them there.
You have all ben so incredibly kind and supportive that it brings tears to my eyes.
I am out of the hospital and stayng with my Mom for a few weeks, I am not in much pain, just pretty uncomfortable.
I don't think things will be too bad re:work, the upcoming holiday weekend will be slow, so no problem there.
As for my cane marks, no one mentioned them and I sure wasn't going to! I think that they were mostly swallowed up my the new brusing. Then again, there might be some sign of them still, but I am probably lucky to have gone to a big inner city hospital rather than one in a more rural area.
I'll be in and out for a bit, so if I dont show up as often as before for a while, dont worry about me, Im OK. I have missed you all and it gives me great joy to rejoin you.

Caroline,
I pray that healing blessings find you and keep you, soon.
Take care of you and be well! :)

Oh Caroline (~smirk~ i love bad plays on words), i am having enough trouble keeping up with the BDSM board these days and am not going to the GB at all (except for two or three long-running threads i post to) so this is it for me as far as your news goes.

I'm very glad you're up and running, figuratively speaking, again so soon and will continue sending warm thoughts your way.
~hugs~

A couple of people did mention your stripes. I did, after your condition was looking good. I wondered how you were going to explain the stripes. Did anybody ask? or was it don't ask, don't tell policy? LOL

Glad to hear you are better.

No one mentioned them at all. I don't know if they were not visible or if the hospital people just thought "Hmm kinky broad".
