The exquisitely voiced (and sexy) Ms Bruni has announced her intended betrothal to that arch enemy of French Socialism - President Sarkozy. Incidently, he wants to the EU to start taxing the use of the Internet.
So what do I do? Do I carry on pretending she's singing just for me - I can't understand a word by the way, I just love the way her voice moves.
Or do I delete all her CD's on the grounds of betrayal, nobbing a President, going over to the right when I hang on the left, not making any more CD's, having to kiss Gordon Brown at EU summits and, not sending me a signed naked picture?
ETA: Note for musical connoisseurs - I know it's just 'lift music', but she gives me a lift. I'm listening to her now, possibly for the last time, with tears running down my legs.
