Hello. I'm in the early stages of a story set on an unnamed nation in the Caribbean. Much of the story takes place in the dark, making speech more important than is might otherwise be. My problem is dialect, which is always tricky for a stranger. Just having conversations as they would normally be in my own area seems a bit flat. While no doubt every island has its own way of speaking, I'm looking for an editor, not so much for the story line or plot, but to translate a certain amount of 'normal' English, to give some the conversations a more Island slant. I've found online programmes, but am not entirely confident in the result. Thanks.
