careful what you post

Big Brother is watching you. Is there no such thing as private communications anymore?

Old Teck

Hi All,

Here is a site that is located near an IBM plant. One can only guess if IBM has an ownership interest.wwwD.I.R.T.com

For this to be offered to all law enforcement, and government agencies, it must be "Old Teck" in the "spook" world.

I would guess the reason that the FBI is making an issue of this is to alert the "Kiddy Porn" nuts that there is a means to find them.

Where it will be abused the most will be a Sheriff, up for election, will use it to identify a swinger location so that he can impress the voters with an arrest of some local citizens ingaging in...SIN!

That's not "news". The FBIs program, Carnivore, is already in use. Asking permission from the Justice Department was only an afterthought, not unlike most of the high profile incidents supervised by this admininistations Attorney General.

Only after several larger ISPs objected to all emails being so called anonymously reviewed, did the Justice Department intervene and begin an "investigation".

The latest dish is that is supposedly takes a court order for them to get to use it in a specific case, but as any 14 year old hacker could tell you, it's not hard to manipulate software once it's in place.

Computers can only do what we program them to do. If you tell it to detect all emails with the words child and love in them, thinking to capture pedophiles, you will get them, Supremes fans, songwriters, your mother relating a funny story about you when you're five and so on.

Can't we all just have less big government? I'm frightened that Ralph Nadar is the candidate that is looking good.
