Marytrs dont kill themselves....they attempt to get others to kill them,so they PERCIEVE that they dont have that responsibility.

Listen for a moment....I am arab and a muslim,I realize that the taliban must be stopped.It's all in how it's done that I take issue with.

If we toss em in a jail in solitary confinement for the rest of their miserable lives....we have defeated their ideas of Martyrdom.

But...if we allow an atrocity to occur,we have some responsibility...and therefore we will create Marytrs.

Most of the arab and Muslim world percieves the USA as not helping them...but rather the ruleing despots of the countries.

We are percieved as being indirectly oppressing them,by our silence and non-interference ideas.

Contary to popular opinion...the vast majority of the Islamic world is poor and uneducated,its not a good combo.Thats what helps to build our versions of hate groups..aka White Aryan nations etc.

Hmmmm, just wondering. Do the Taliban consider all their opposers so willing to die fighting them martyrs? Or are there clear cut rules on just who can and who can't be a martyr?

Well said CH. The whole issue is riddled with gray areas. The victory (or whatever title one prefers) in Afghanistan is a small part of an overall action. How it is conducted is going to play a Major part in how relations between the West and the Arab world proceed from this point.
