Caramel or Candy Apples?

It's that time of year...

which do you prefer? Caramel or candy apples?

(I should do a poll but I've never set one up! )

I've got a caramel apple sitting on my counter, it's been calling my name since we brought it home from the cider mill yesterday... mmmmm... and I love it when they're covered with nuts...!

I actually make on average about 100 a week . And some are called in for special order on Saturday mornings as well.

For the most part about 50 % are just carmel with fresh crushed peanuts . And all the apples are about the size of a huge softball when I'm done . I sell the regular ones ( carmel / peanut ) for $1.99 .

Now the others are dunked in carmel , left to sit to firm . Then I use a Swedish dark chocolate ( it's very good , not bitter or strong ) , then I either roll it in Butterfinger bits , Crushed Oreo ( then dizzle this one in white chocolate) , or Toffee bits .
I also do a Turtle where it's dipped in carmel , dipped in chocolate and covered with pecans or peanuts then drizzled with more chocolate . I charge $3.39 for these . I have seen them sell elsewhere for as high as six bucks .
But they sell like crazy here . Makes me happy

Caramel for me but that white chocolate one with toffee sounded really good too!

When I was a kid I cut my lip on a candy one and they never held the same appeal after that

They're actually quite good . The tastes and textures go really well together . I'm trying to think of more flavor combinations .. so if anyone has any ideas , let me know!
