Slowly I awake as icy fingers of air brush over creamy skin, green eyes flutter, opening, adjusting to the dim gloom of early morning or late evening. Shivering from a mix of fear and cold the I slowly sit up, shaking hay from fiery curls, trying to figure out where I am.
A small hand reaches up, pushing a tumble of thick curls from a heart shaped face, head throbbing I try to remember what happened, but am unable to focus on anything but the pounding in my head, the strange surrounding and the cold steel ring wrapped tightly around my neck. It takes a moment for the cold steel around my neck to register, as it does I grab and pull on the steel ring panic raising as the clank and clink of chain rattles behind me, twisting I realize I’m tethered to the wall, for a moment I yank and tug on the chain, scrambling on the floor as I get to my feet and look around. Always self assured, capable, I take a deep breath to calm myself, and think “okay pull it together Ailnora, if your going to get out of this you have to stay calm and think” Slowly I sink back to the ground, curling back into the pile of hay for warmth cursing whoever took my clothing. I slowly take in my surroundings. Looking up I see a weak light coming in from an open window, the window itself is good sized, but barred. The walls pine paneled have hooks and rings mounted in several places, the floor covered with hay is wood as well, the door is a wooden half door, the top part also barred, I quickly realize I’m chained in a stall of a barn.
