Synopsis - New Methodica was your average city, if your idea of an average city included super heroes and super villains, and everything that came with them. Of course, not all of these super heroes or villains are all that good at their jobs, Captain Awful for example, is a super villain, but it isn't something that he is particularly good at. This is the story of their adventures to try and become more than what they are, and maybe even find some happiness.

---What we are looking for---
We are looking for capable players to take the role of super heroes or villains who take a stereotype to such an extreme that it becomes comical. As an example, I will be playing Captain Awful, the scientific super villain who has no super powers short of his ability to make super gadgets that are often useless without having to be failures, while the ones that do have some merit often fail. The idea is that I took the standard super hero failure and took it to such an extreme that he actually becomes funny and likable as a result.

It doesn't necessarily have to be taking something normal to an extreme though. Perhaps your idea is for a damsel in distress who has taken some martial arts training and actually isn't in distress when she gets captured by the hero anymore, or maybe you have a plan for a hero who is obsessed with his self image, and wants everyone to acknowledge how great he is, or a heroine who is always worried about breaking her nails if she gets into an actual fight.

The trick could even be in the powers that you chose if you are a hero or a villain. Perhaps your super power is to make incredibly annoying noises, or shoot candy hearts at people. Now really, those are sort of taking it a bit too far in extreme, because they should still be believable as heroes or villains if that is what you are doing, just remember they should have a flaw that is drawn out so incredibly that you kind of wonder how they managed to become a hero or villain.

---What makes a hero/villain?---
Someone who posts more than once.
Someone who's posts we can understand.
Someone who posts more than a single line at any one time.
Someone with a sense of humor.

It is because of these requirements that we are asking that when you join you submit your filled in profile skeleton, and a test post that we can look at to decide that if we really want you on the Awful team. Don't worry though, I'm not as strict as I make myself sound, I just really, really, really want this second attempt at this game to be better than the first.

Played by: Bluemage
Name: William Power
Super Name: Captain Awful
Age: 21
Appearance: Short brown hair, and green eyes. He wears blast goggles and a white lab coat when he is dressed up as Captain Awful. He also often wears vintage t-shirts, and jeans.
Occupation: Super Villain
Powers: Super Gadgets
Flaws: He's really, really bad at everything.
Biography:
A brown haired genius who, if he applied himself, could probably come up with some incredible devices and weapons, but because he has enough of a moral compass where he doesn't really want to come off as too much of a villain, he doesn't really do all that much. Most of his plans backfire, and most of his devices are as likely to explode as they are to actually do anything of any value...assuming they do anything at all. He has been attempting to get into Triple V for about a year.
His fater, Max, was a capable villain back in his day, and was also a master of gadgets, only instead of William, most of his gadgets actually worked. Maxwell Power was better known as "Captain Chaos" and he met his end when his last gadget, the arc cannon backfired. The whole situation was covered up by a lot of red tape and isn't talked about much, but most people in the super community know what is being talked about when the mention of Captain Chaos comes up. The relationship between the two villains isn't very well known, especially thanks to the fact that William isn't a very good villain, and Maxwell was considerably better at it.

Name: Katelyn Payne
Super Name: None
Age: 21
Appearance:
Occupation: Civilian
Powers: None
Flaw: Distressing Damsel
Biography: A brown haired haired beauty who always seems to get herself captured by some villian or another for their amusement obviously. She used to have a slight crush on the ever amazing hero who always seems to save her from the horrible...or not so horrible Captain Awful but got over him quickly because he didn’t even notice her what with his popularity and everything. She has no love interest at the moment and she’s really tired of being the damsel in distress therefore it is her mission to find some way out of that stereotypical title. She dislikes Captain Awful with a passion, not only because he always seems to kidnap her but because he does it without much finesse like any real villain should so she tends to bitch at him quite frequently whenever she does get kidnapped.

Played by: MilkManDan
Name: Dr. Jason Baker, PhD.
Super Name: Doctor Science
Age: 30
Appearance: Dr. Baker is a normal-ish looking man. Standing 5-foot 10-inches tall, he often blends into crowds and is never a hit at the parties he stumbles into. He has slightly tousled brown hair and brown eyes and is generally unassuming…until danger calls.
Occupation: Hero
Powers: Only the Amazing Powers of SCIENCE ITSELF!
Flaw: Over-thinks situations to a ridiculous degree before acting.
Biography:
Dr. Jason Baker always excelled in school, but rarely in real life. He could solve multivariable non-linear equations in his head, but could never seem to get the numbers of the women he met around campus. He switched his focus several times, finally settling on nonlinear partial differentiated equations and theoretical quantum physics.

He spent several years after earning his degree in working for the Defense Department in their research division, until that one fateful day at the bank. He had gone in to make a simple withdraw to purchase some new lab goggles and a new lab coat, when two men stormed the bank with guns. Everyone was ordered to the ground, and the robbers went about their business.

But Dr. Baker had a brilliant idea. He could be a hero here, and maybe impress that cute redhead in the next lane. But how? He couldn’t simply stand up and stop them as he’d surely be shot. The synapses in his brain fired quickly, idea after idea popping into his head only to be replaced with one more brilliant. Than it came to him; if only he had access to the particle accelerator back at the lab, he could use the high-frequency field generators to disassemble the robbers down to their constituent atoms. But no luck.

But all hope wasn’t lost. He took out his cell phone and fiddled with the ring tone, sweeping the tones through a narrow frequency range until he got it tuned just right. The paperclips on the floor were slightly vibrating. He reached over and grabbed the earbuds off of the annoyed businessman’s iPod who was lying next to him. He plugged them into his phone and slowly, quietly, stood and held the two small speakers to the intercom microphone, turning both the phone and microphone up to their highest volume.

To everyone’s surprise, the bandit’s guns seemingly disassembled in their hands, shaken apart by harmonic resonance. Unfortunately, the guns were in the hands of the bandits, who were already outside the bank with their ill-gotten bounty. Dr. Baker smiled widely at his accomplishment. He hadn’t exactly stopped them, but he could have. If only he focused more. And on that day, as the cute redhead gave him the look that only a cute redhead can give an oddly acting stranger, Dr. Science was born.

And so Dr. Science came into being. Not being much of a designer or one into fashion, Dr. Science’s super uniform consists of thick leather welding gloves, a leather lab coat, leather boots, and less-than-stylish welding goggles. His crime-fighting abilities have received mixed reviews from the police. So schooled in science, he too often over-thinks a situation before acting. He will mull theories in his head, speak out loud and pace while talking out possible outcomes and flaws in his own logic before coming to a slightly less than reasonable conclusion and acting. Unfortunately, by then, the villain has usually either gotten away with whatever he was stealing or become so mind-numbingly bored by Dr. Science’s ramblings that he turns himself in. If the villain is still adamant about his plan, the taken action is usually so outlandish and steeped in scientific theory that it works.

Name: Jeremiah Mathers
Super Name: Shift
Age: 21
Appearance:
http://msp202.photobucket.com/albums/aa181/samanthakarina/JimSturgess17.jpg
Occupation: Super Hero
Powers: Able to shapeshift.
Flaw: Can only shapeshift in to inanimate objects.
Biography:

Jeremiah grew up in a happy home, with parents who cared for him deeply. This may not seem like the normal superhero mold, but then, Jeremiah is not your average hero! He attended grade school in his small town, but left for college, in what he saw as an opportunity to expand his horizons. He is a decent student, but is focused more on gaining a life, an identity, as opposed to getting straight A's.

His power manifested itself during his sophomore year. Sure, he had heard of heroes and villains like Captain Awful. They were in the news all the time. He never thought it would be him though! His roommate had brought a girl back to their room last night, and as they did the horizontal tango, he shut his eyes as tightly as possible, wishing he were anywhere else but there. When he opened his eyes again, everything felt... flatter.

This is when he realized he had morphed in to his very own bedsheets. From that day on, he worked on developing this power, trying his hardest to morph in to a fire hydrant, a textbook, you know, exciting stuff like that. It didn't take long for him to realize he couldn't shift in to living beings, but he has been able to cope with that, and left school to begin a modes career as a superhero, mostly working on undercover projects.

((Hope this is enough... If not let me know and I'll add more!))

Its absolutely wonderful and I love the character. Welcome to the thread! We need a few more players though.
