Capitalize on This

Well, capitalize on THE actually.

So say you have an anonymous character, whose name isn't known. The main character creates a name for them in their POV, like if the person had an eagle tattoo, they'd refer to them as "The Eagle". Constantly. The Eagle did this, the Eagle walked over there, etc.

Now since "Eagle" has become the person's name, therefore proper, I'm capitalizing it. My question is, being as they are referred to as THE Eagle, how should that title be capitalized. Should "the" be capitalized as we as "Eagle"? Or neither? Both?
