Capitalization is a whore

Okay,

I was a lit major in college, but I have since depleted a few brain cells, some of which obviously held the answer to this question.

I know you capitalize a title in direct address. For example, "Yes, Mom, I took out the garbage." Or "Yes, Majesty, thy will be done."

BUT what I'm not sure about is if you capitalize the title in passive voice. For example, is it:

"Come on, let's go see Mom."
Or
"Come on, let's go see mom."

"Take her to the King."
Or
"Take her to the king."

Any input is appreciated.

Also - since it says I'm a virgin anyway, I'll ask what I'm sure is an embarassingly obvious question. To those of you who post - how do you create a signiture line? I haven't seen an option for it, although I notice on most of your posts there is one.

Thankee sai.

I don't know whether I do it right or not, but I capitalize the specific, but not the general.

"Come on, let's go see Mom," but "Come on, let's go see a mom."

In other words, when the title is used as a name I capitialize.

http://www.literotica.com/forum/member.php?action=editprofile is the link under the icon at the upper right of the page labeled profile. Scroll down to near the bottom of the page and you'll find the text box for your signature line. (after you get past the password page.)

When you make a post, there is a check box between the text box and the submit button labeled "show signature" that must be checked for your signature to show.

Thank you ;-)

Thanks Harold. I had thought the same thing, but I didn't know if I was loopy or remembering right ;-)

And hopefully i figured out this signiture thingy ;-)

Reply to Caps

You capatalize titles if it subs for a name for example.

-Come on, let's go see Mom.

But if you refer to the title, you don't capitalize.

-Take her to the king.

Unless you are referring to Elvis.

-Take her to The King.

At least thats my understanding.

Sorry about this

I am a newbie, and am trying to change my signature from virign, I hope it works.

The Virgin label is a title rather than signnature. It goes away at your 30th post and you become experienced.

When you hit a thousand posts, you get to pick your own title. All of the others inbetween are automatic.
