The summer is over. The throngs of the privledged have begun to erode, and today there is a chill in the air. The Cape can be a lonely place in the winter, very lonely. Thank God for draft beer and the Red Sox(and Patriots, and even the...gasp...Celtics). Where are you Cape Cod People?

I lived on the Cape all of my life, but now that I go to college, I'm only there for the summer and breaks. Where on the Cape do you live?

I have an apartment near falmouth, but I work there( for now, hopefully). I shouldn't complain about anything here because it is beautiful and it is historic...but it is so friggin' boring nowadays. Most of my friends are teachers and professional types, so life can be mundane waiting for their vacations or half days. It'd be nice to bus in some people on the weekends from off cape just to be able to see some different faces every once in awhile. Oh, well...there is always next weekend!

Heh. I lived on Alcatraz (aka Martha's Vineyard) all last year, so I totally know what you mean about the winter being oh so lonely. At least you don't need to depend on a boat to get to civilization, though! But seriously, a year was all I could take - the first opportunity that came up, my fiance and I fled back to the mainland. We're nice and comfortable back in the central, civilized part of the state.

Martha's Vineyard. A great place to visit. But that's about it...

I have a lot of family on the vineyard, and so it was always nice to be able to come and go as I pleased. The vineyard is a place that has been so saturated by money and privelage, that the true vineyarders are deep in the island, still smoking cob pipes and hunting for lunch. Then again, I am biased.
I spent some time in jersey, about two years, and found it to be a lot like the cape, with different accents. I was on the shore, so that might be why I found them to be so similar. Ghost town in the winter, Hedonism in the summer.

I love the Cape in the autumn and spring more than the summer. Hell, I like it all year except for summer. I just don't like tourists. Even though I was there all summer break, I miss it now that it's turning to October and I'm up here, as beautiful as it is here in the Valley.

Winter is my favorite season on cape, I love the first snowfall, and the coolness to the air is refreshing.

Valley? Does that make you a valley girl now CG? ^_~

Glad to see another person on the thread, even if it's only a parttime cape codder ^_^

Never been to the Cape, but I am a fellow New Englander. Just had to say great breast and cleavage photo conntom.

I find it interesting that this little thread was kind of resurrected. Yay for the Cape. :) Snow can be crappy when it shuts down the electricity. but I still love it.
