Nope, not a chance in the world. Arafat is no longer in control of the events that he started 30 years ago. Dealing with him is a waste of time and political capital.

His problem is that if he does enter into a peace agreement, his own people will either 'off' him or ignore him. No peace.

If he doesn't, the Israeli's will eventually 'off' him, or trivialize him. No peace.

Arafat had his 'best last chance' at the Camp David meetings. He overplayed his hand, and has now lost.

I think Arafat has had a bunch of chances. Considering he says "oh yeah we will get them"(radicals) and then puts them in jail for maybe a week then "forgets" he left the cell door open. And Saddam Hussain is a big jerk anyways. I'd like to kick him in the balls.

Roughly what the Brits kept saying about US support for the IRA, and I well recall meeting a friend of mine in London in 1974. He was wearing a trenchcoat stuffed with dollars, I've never seen so many notes or so much money - for Zanu, Mr. Mugabe - the cash had flown in with him that day from the States.

When your ordinary citizen feels symapthy for people who appear to be suffering injusice, you will get the financial backing.

In all terrorist/guerrilla conflicts you are against real people, individuals who are fighting for basic survival. Governments and armies can rarely - and have very rarely - ever won against poverty and injustice.

Who is this "WE"? I asked before and didn't get an answer. I don't need to give these people chances. They lack integrity just like many of the people in government. I don't need to give them the time of day.

I am, however, very concerned about the policies that are being covered up by all this people stuff.
