Can't remember the title...

Hey guys,

I read a story a while ago about a wheelchair bound guy and his (i believe she was black) nurse. The guy was a college student who also made music with his friends. Eventually he fell in love with his nurse, accidentally slept with his friend and the girl (his nurse) left him and went to college, where he found her after getting surgery to walk upright. I really want to find the author and the title of that story so I can read it again. If I need to post more details I will, but please help me find it!
