[Found] Can't remember name of relatively new story (probably nonhuman)
Hey, not sure where I should be asking this, so I guess this will work. The "new" subcategory under main categories doesn't allow you to go to older pages as far as I could tell, so I can't recall the name of a story I read before.
It should be only two or three chapters in. General setting is a world in which three species live, humans, aliens, and those same aliens except they were bred for slavery. In the opening scene the main character, a guy, is seen advocating against slavery. He then gets to talk to one alien (who owns a slave), which is apparently a rare thing to happen. The alien kindly disagrees on his viewpoints. Once he comes home he finds out his father (who is pretty pro-slavery) has a female slave for him (from that alien slave breed) as a gift/to take care of. I recall there being atleast one other slave girl, and the main character has a sister.
Main character guy gets pissed, viewpoint switching to slave girl, feels scared and insecure about how she might not please her new master. Slave girl might be called Rose or something like that, there was this thing that her sisters from where she grew up all had names of flowers. I think she purrs? Or atleast that the purring of a cat reminded her of her sisters, after being scared the crap out of her by said cat.
Sister of the main character takes Rose (?) shopping, as the guy didn't have the time. The guy goes to his anti-slavery friend club, gets ridiculed and almost kicked out, eventually they see the opportunity to learn from the girl.
I can't really recall anything past these events.
