Can't remember character name...

Trying to remember a character's name and Have been searching for days and can't think of any phrases or words that aren't generic. It was a m/m multi-chapter story set on other planet. Species had to have sex when they went into "heat" or they would die or go crazy. Character was a genetic throwback and had a tail (feline tendencies?) He was the ruler's son, was kidnapped and put in a cell and given a human male as an "impossible" mate. They bonded and story continues with them being rescued by best friend, heading home to the fortress and the human trying to adapt to being loved by a male, learning the language, meeting lover's family, etc. I think a tattoo like mark appeared on the human's butt as proof of bonding. Funny scene with human being escorted to formal chamber, needing to pee, finally getting escort to understand but escaping guard when "helping" is perceived as " groping", bursting into formal chamber and trying to escape by climbing the wall. What's the character's name? Who's the author?
