Can't log in

Every time I try to log in it says my user name or password are invalid. I could log in yesterday, but to only one area and today I can't log in at all; I'm not even sure I'm logged in now -- I had this page open from yesterday.
This is the most confusing and difficult to use site I have ever been on. And it seems like it hasn't been updated since the 1990s.

The same is happening to me. And the password reset link is broken. Also. I cheked my password saved in my chrome and I was actually typing it right, yet the site is saying it's wrong.

This problem has been widely reported and it has been this way for over a month now. Maybe even longer.

I, for one, would like some polite explanation as to when, or if, the board admins ever plan to fix this issue. Because it is annoying for sure.

This has been on other threads recently. Are you using Internet Explorer? I only logged in with Explorer when submitting a story and I went to do this recently and couldn’t do so. But I could log in with Firefox and Chrome plus Safari on my phone.

No! Internet Explorer is not the issue. I HAVE NEVER used internet explorer. Never, I was a Firefox user since I can remember and then switcher to Chrome when it came out.

I have always accesed Literotica con Chrome. Stop with that IE nonsense, it's not the issue. I can't log in in CHROME.

If you're not using IE, then try dumping your cookies and cache.

As I've suggested for IE users, you might want to try with a different browser as well. Or, if there's a device you've never accessed Lit with before, try on that. If you can log in on a different device or browser, then there's an issue with your normal setup. Unlike IE, Edge seems to be fine. So, if you want to use that as an alternative for testing that you already have installed, go for it.

If it's your normal setup, then double-check all your settings and add-ons for the browser after clearing your cache/cookies. Defaults can get changed by updates, causing weird things to suddenly start happening. That's more likely with add-ons than the browser itself.

Pay special attention to any add-on designed to block ads or scripts. Those are the most likely culprits. Try whitelisting Lit if you haven't already.

One other thing that's floating around, if you're using Firefox, is that some people are having issues with their saved passwords if they also have AVG security. So, if you have that combination, you might want to look into that as well. That's not just a Lit issue, that's a general issue with saved passwords.

I've had no issues accessing Lit with Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Chrome on Android, or Firefox on Android. I've logged in at least two different pen names on each of them without a hiccup quite recently.

Clearing cookies means loosing all your saved passwords... This is clearly a site issue, not mine. I'm login into the forum just fine.

I don't know what to tell you. You're the only person ( who has reported back ) experiencing these problems who wasn't using IE, and then didn't have success when using a different browser.

The forum is a completely separate issue from the new code going up on the site. That's why you can't modify your profile on the forum any longer. This old code is clashing with the new code in catastropic ways, so the old bridges that used to exist between them have mostly been burned. Being able to log in here more or less has nothing to do with being able to log into the site.

I do have one more possible suggestion, which resolved some past issues in the new control panel. While on the control panel page, hold down the shift key, and then click the refresh button on your browser. This is assuming you're on a device with a physical keyboard, of course.

That causes the browser to ignore any existing cache for that page, and load all the code fresh. It only takes a couple of seconds, and has no impact on any other cookies/cache. All it does is reload that page clean from the existing code, and it has cleared up story-side CP issues in the past.

I have no idea how you would duplicate it on something with a virtual keyboard — though dumping your cache should accomplish the same thing, except for every site, and not just that one page. Won't affect your cookies so long as you don't check that option while doing the clean-up. So it's relatively low impact beyond a few extra seconds loading pages the first time you visit them again.

For me its the reverse - I can login to the story area but when I try to go to the forum, it asks for a new login and for as long as I have been on the site, this never happened. I ended up creating a new id so that hopefully one of the admins or tech support could help me rectify my old id - josephanthony69

I changed my password from the user CP here in the forum and still can't log in. It's really ridiculous and no staff is even helping.

Same Problem

I have had this same problem for almost 3 months now and reported it numerous times with no results. I write computer software for a living you need to get a new IT support person or a new web-hosting service, the purpose of up grades is to fix problems not create new ones.

Chrome on android

I am having the same problems recently went on fourms after a long absence had to reset password. Tried to get on chat today Using same credentials was told wrong password, tried password reset was told no user in database, tried to create a new account was told email in use. This was all done on chrome for android

Ps.dont know if this will work forum shows im logged in but thread says cant log in
