As does everyone. Wouldn't be surprised if someone made a Bethesda joke about it. "It's not a bug. It's a FEATURE!"
They must be sick of getting this question because I can't view the thread anymore unless I go search my own comments on my user profile, it has been removed from the Tech bulletin board. I'm no coding expert but how hard or expensive can a basic fix like this be? Guess I now understand why people's signatures are often so long.

The edit profile function has been broken for about four years and apparently will remain broken forever. As far as I know, no explanation for this has ever been given and why it is never fixed is a great mystery. As for 100 posts, as a previous poster mentions, that refers to the ability to have an avatar, not edit your profile. It really is weird. Whoever runs this site apparently is active maintaining other features of the site and creatine new ones, but the massive problem of not being able to edit your profiles is never mentioned and never fixed.

Double click work around
Have you tired to press "edit profile" while doing a double click on the Windows button and holding down function key 10? I am not sure what it would be on a mac.

This will open up the ability to add an avatar. The ability to edit profiles has been broken for years and is not related to post count.

I seriously doubt it will be fixed.
You can write a blurb in your sig or you can make a profile on the main lit site and link it.

Edit profile
I struggled with this too, you need to log into your Stories log in side, not the forum side. Then click on your bolded username username which will take you to your main frame page, then on left menu, click options(gear icon) and then you should be able t enter the fields and upload an image(subject to verification first), save at bottom as per orange reminder. Hope this helps?

FYI: this will update the profile visible on the stories side and in chat, but it will not show on the profile here in the forums.

I agree; it seems really unlikely to be fixed. Linking to the story side profile in the sig box is a really good idea.

No, you can't. Lit gets the name from the file you upload.

The rule was made way back when disk space was expensive. And they wanted to make sure you were going to stick around.

I'm new and perhaps ignorant but when I click "edit profile" it takes me straight to "Edit password or email address" which is supposed to be the option to click above "Edit Profile" What am I missing??
You're missing the same thing I'm missing. From reading through other posts, it sounds like this feature is either "broken and never going to be fixed, or "you need to post 100 times before you can edit your profile."
I'm just trying to figure out how to view mine. I was on here years ago and don't recall this being an issue.

If you search through this forum enough you should eventually find other posts about the issue.
While updating the core software That runs the site before it became obsolete they found a technical issue with the way two sides of the site handle profiles. The other side actually produces revenue so they intentionally redirected the Forum link to the change your email page as a temporary fix.
Either the issue can't be fixed and they don't want to tell us (or they may have announced it and I missed it when I gave up following the issue), they're happy with home grown solution of people posting what used to be in their profile on their signatures or there's some other answer.
Regardless, this does appear to be an issue that will never be resolved in my Lit lifetime.
