Cannot open private messages!!

The notification on the top right of the screen says that I have 2 unread messages but when I click on it, I cannot see any messages in my Inbox.

Why is this happening? Tried this in several browsers and even on different platforms/OS.

Spammers try to use the PM system. When they are reported, Laurel removes all their posts and deletes the account. It takes time for the notification system to catch up.
