What does it mean when all of a sudden a story that I have read shows. "work unavailable"? Does that mean the author has left the site and pulled their stories?

What does it mean when all of a sudden a story that I have read shows. "work unavailable"? Does that mean the author has left the site and pulled their stories?

Either that, or the story has been reported, and taken down by the site. If the latter, and the author does nothing about it, the story stays down forever.
