I like candles. Weather it's lighting them to relax in the bathtub, or having hot wax dripped onto my stomach, it's all fine by me.

Right now I'm looking for something in between. I've seen various candles out there marketed as "massage oil candles" or something of the sort.

I bought one at the local Renaissance Festival the other weekend (http://rencandle.com/) through that vendor, and have to say it worked and smelled great. This particular one was more of a lotion candle, as opposed to an oil, but oh well...

Unfortunately, after one use the candle was dropped and the glass broke. So.. I'm in the market for a new one.

Has anyone ever used one? I think specifically, I would like the one I get to be edible... I've seen some on the market, but do they taste good or are they just safe to eat? Any brands better than others? Something that doesn't leave oil spots on the sheets would be preferable.

Also, most of these seem to be described as candles with a low burning/melting temperature. Is that just the way it is, or is there an edible massage candle out there that burns hot for the feel of hot wax without it hardening on your skin.

You will want soy wax candle burns at much lower temp and the wax when dripped on you can be rubbed in. I norm care for candles but soy ones are great.

If you want that hot, dripping sensation on your skin to be edible, candle wax isn't something I'd recommend.

If you simply have to have it, get some chocolate chips, the good ones, melt them down, temp check them to make sure they're not going to melt your flesh off and drip that on. Edible, hot liquid fun.

Depending on location, ambient temperature, etc, most chocolates tempter and can set at around 90F. So you can't make a cast of your body, but can have fun anyway.

Don't do this on carpet though. Few things stain like liquid chocolate on carpet.

And honestly, edible wax sounds like a terrible idea to me.

From what I've seen, edible candles aren't wax, they're just flavored oils (soy, hemp, almond, etc.) that melt at a very low temperature.

But anything that's wax or oil has the potential to ruin bedding and clothing, so you might want to consider that when using any kind of candle or massage product, ms_no_one.

We've experimented with regular soy candles, but found them too lukewarm and difficult to clean up, so we use wax candles for wax play and massage products for massage.

If you really want to go with an "edible massage candle," I'd suggest googling, looking at ingredients and buying with the idea that they may not taste great vs. going straight to a mass-produced product that's marketed specifically for erotic purposes (which are often poorer quality and WAY, WAY overpriced). You might want to consider flavors that are nice scents, so at least you have something even if you don't like the taste of the product.

OOhhh... I might have to dig out the fondue pot. I like that idea.:D

Sounds a little messy, but worth a try. I'll take your word about the carpet.
