Mine was

A night at the Opera by Queen - I bought it at GI records in Stockbridge Edinburgh - it cost me 1 pound 50 and it was on white vinyl - those were the days !!

First album I ever bought was Abba (can't remember which - yes it's embarrassing...)

My second ( I think the next day - I had just discovered music ) was Seconds Out by Genesis

I had a crappy little turn table and about a .5 watt per channel speaker in my room

we rocked !!

First one..... with my own money Styx Cornerstone

I dont know how many times I've listen to that song, thousand probably:

Babe, I'm leaving, I must be on my way
The time is drawing near
My train is going, I see it in your eyes
The love, the need, your tears
But I'll be lonely without you
And I'll need your love to see me through
Please believe me, my heart is in your hands
And I'll be missing you.
You know it's you Babe
Whenever I get weary and I've had enough
Feel like giving up
You know it's you Babe
Giving me the courage and the strength I need
Please believe that it's true
Babe, I love you.

You know it's you Babe
Whenever I get weary and I've had enough
Feel like giving up
You know it's you Babe
Giving me the courage and the strength I need
Please believe that it's true
Babe, I love you.

Babe, I'm leaving, I'll say it once again
Somehow try to smile
I know the feeling we're trying to forget
If only for a while
But I'll be lonely without you
And I'll need your love to see me through
Please believe me, my heart is in your hands
And I'll be missing you
Babe, I love you.

My first album was "Woodstock". I copied it to tape and just recently gave the album away. I'm hoping the person I gave it to will take very good care of it. I figure now that he's 37 years old, he's old enough and won't scratch it.

Micheal Jackson's Thriller.

I bought it with my first ever babysitting money.

The first was the Rolling Stones very first album.

Methuselah is only a few years older than me!:D

I think it was Michael Jackson's Off the Wall, closely followed by James Taylor, Sweet Baby James.

I had a Michael Jackson pin.

And a tapestry.

On my ceiling.

How creepy that seems now.

the first album i owned was sarah mcLachlan - surfacing

but lisa bought that for me so im not sure if it counts ... can't think of the first one i bought myself yet

I was 8 years old, King's Road sings Neil Diamonds (sp?) Greatest Hits.

Hey, it was 28 years ago, give me a break!

I can't recall the first one I bought with my own money, but the boy down the street gave me Jim Croche, Photographs and Memories, when I was in 5th grade.
