Can you imagine if a Democrat appointed Justice did this???

Allegations of sexual harassment during his appointment process were not enough to make his GOP masters look elsewhere; they actually made him a perfect fit for a Republican nomination.

First reported in 2002, the yet another hit piece by the NYT in 2011. Nothing then, nothing now.

Look how they went apeshit when RGB spoke up about voting.

Yet silence for Alito and his partisan speaking events. And silence for all of the serious improprieties around Thomas now.

IOKIYAR

While we see Thomas, Alito, and Kavanaugh, etc, for what they are, the RWCJ “members” turn a partisan blind eye.

SAD!!!

If it was revealed that a Democrat appointed Justice was doing the exact same thing, I would call / push for their impeachment.

That ^ is a fact.

We can’t expect such a commitment from the corruption enabling RWCJ “members”

SAD!!!

o yeah???

ok
if you're such an expert in ifs -

I believe you have me confused with someone else.

I am a true blue pragmatic progressive Democrat.

Ukraine would already be in Russian hands if the corrupt orange traitor was President, - and NATO would likely be collapsing.

Thanks President Biden!!!

seems the Times reported this stuff 20 years back, and after that he didn't bother disclosing anything to do with what he now claims to come under 'personal hospitality'

i agree that Congress needs to pass stricter declaration rules for SCOTUS if they are ever to regain any public confidence in their ability to rule on cases impartially.

You would think the RWCJ “members” who constantly bash George Soros would be all over this - But they’re not. So weird.

It isn't a problem if a Republican paid monkey does it. Only if you aren't on their side

Um, you could make your point without calling an individual “a Republican paid monkey” .

WTF is wrong with you???

Definitely not helpful.

So stop “helping”.

Fuck that. Gonna call it as I see it. You coddle shit behavior.

I’m no fan of Uncle Thomas but I suspect that all the justices get vacations and other stuff from rich people trying to buy influence. How else do you explain U.S. v McDonnell a few years ago? a jury found Bob McDonnell, former governor of Virginia guilty of bribery and other crimes. He got sweetheart loans, cash, vacations etc from a business man trying to buy access. the us court of appeals upheld the conviction but SCOTUS unanimously overturned the conviction on the last day of the term of court (as the justices were high-tailing it out of town). I always figured the justices were in on the same grift as McDonnell.

Why would you want a job for life if it weren’t for the perks!

they're not banned from accepting 'gifts' but are supposed to declare them so the ethics people can determine they don't make things look bad. the exception for the rule was 'personal hospitality'.

anyway, it looks as if they've agreed to some new rules moving forward which he's agreed to abide by. That won't prevent the damage already done to the image of SCOTUS by his unprecedented levels of acceptance of such lavish gifts.
