Can you edit plot, flow, characterization?

I'm just starting out writing erotica. I'm delighting in the fact that I've finally found a genre that speaks to me, something that I can write well and all the way through. I have fairly good creative writing skills, but many of my previous projects over the past years fizzled. I guess it really is a matter of write what you know.

Anyhow, I have my first story written and polished to a point where I need to have a fresh set of eyes look it over. To let you know, my story is about 5,500 words and will more than likely go under the Erotic Couplings catagory. It's about a committed couple (M/F) that moves into their first apartment together, and the unexpected renewed passion they find. If you're curious about specific sexual content, it has some light bondage and master-slave play, vibrator play, oral and vaginal sex, and a couple scenes of masturbation.

Ideally, I'd like to work with an editor who can chat with me over AIM for reaaltime discussion of the editing process. As the title of my post implies, I mostly have a handle on spelling and grammar (though of course I may miss something, even with the spelling and grammar check in Word). It's things like plot, characterization, and flow that concern me the most. Also, I'm hoping to find some one I can look to for help on future stories as well. Most of my stories, I think, would include roughly the same sort of content. Other likely themes for future pieces are lesbian sex, anal sex, other sex toys, group sex, and slightly heavier BDSM.

Sorry this is so long, I just want to be sure I cover everything. :) If you're interested in working with me, drop me a pm or reply here.

P.S. I'm likely to work with more than one editor, possibly on a single story; though of course credit will be given to all. Just want to be sure you're aware I'm not the exclusive type. ;)

Check the volunteer editor list, please

We got the message.

Sorry, I thought it was acceptable to use this forum to find an editor. Somehow I must have misinterpreted; to me it sounded like the sticky thread "Looking for an editor? Looking to do any editing? Check in here first!" implied it was ok to persue either or both avenues. Oh, well, my mistake I suppose.

It's okay. You didn't do anything wrong

Just have a look in the volunteer editor list. Start there.

Check with the editors concerned before posting credits. Many of us prefer to remain anonymous. There's a thread about it somewhere on here.

Er, uh... silly me.

I totally forgot already having been told editors may prefer to be anonymous.
