Can you edit a story that is pending publication?

Hi Lit authors,

I am a new author and I'm not certain that this is the proper place to post this question, but I am going to give it a shot. Thanks, in advance, for any suggestions/assistance.

I submitted a story two days ago with the wrong title; it is Pt. 2 of an on-going story, but I inadvertently gave it a whole new title! Is there any way to correc this before it is posted? I don't know if the readers will be able to find it the way I posted it.

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Vanessa

Click on the pending link next to the story and make any changes you need. Once you do this, your story will move back to the end of the line and you'll have to wait another 3 - 5 days (perhaps longer cuz of the Valentine's Day contest going on right now) before it appears.

Welcome to Literotica and the AH.

Click the "pending" link. You can then correct whatever you need to, preview, and submit again.

Your story will go to the back of the queue when you do this, but what's a few extra days if the story appears correctly the first time :)

Whoops... too slow :p

Who is going to quibble about 2 minutes?

I'm sure hotladyvanessa isn't. Within 18 minutes of hitting the submit button, she had not only one but two answers for her dilemma. Nice work, y'all. ;)

Hi, Vanessa, and welcome to the AH. What previous posters said is correct, but if the edits are substantial, you might be better advised to click on "pending," delete the pending version and make the corrections on the copy you presumably kept on your HD or other storage medium. Once the changes are made, submit as a new story, because it is as if the first submission never existed.

Generally speaking, if the changes can be made quickly, it is better to do so on the pending version of the story.

ETA: And, this IS the proper place to ask a question such as yours.

Of course, even with substantial edits, she can still click the pending link and do what she needs to do without deleting the submission. I've done it several times.

Either way works and either way will boot the story to the end of the queue.

As often as you like, but remember every time you do and make a change, then submit the change the story goes to the end of the robot cue. So the clock as to how long it take to have a story approved starts all over.
