Can a story (not a chain story) be co-written and posted under two names? I have an idea for the Nudity Day contest but I'd love to collaborate with someone on it. (Check my profile I'm very attached and I don't share or detach, so I'm really looking for a writing partner.)

My idea is someone silly (definitely in the humor/satire category)

Message me with any interest.

FYI, my take on contests is that they are fun and I work best under a deadline. Winning is cool, but I'm aware that I'm new to this and just finding my feet, so I'm not expecting to win. Just want to have fun and do some good work.

Only if the two names are jammed together make up a separate account. A story isn't run to two different accounts.

You don't have to start an "official" chain story in order to collaborate between two authors and post chapters of the same story, though you'll have to post them in another appropriate category, and not in the chain stories category. Only official chain stories can go there.

It may be a little confusing for readers unless you edit each chapter as the other author's story posts, adding a link to the next story in your private chain at the end of each installment, though. Or, you can link to the other author's profile from the beginning and simply say that "ch. x will be posted by (member name)" to avoid the need to edit after the story posts.

( This is allowed. Links to other Literotica pages such as author bios are the one type of link allowed in stories. You do need to say something about this in the "notes" section of the submission in order to avoid a potential speed-reading HTML rejection, though )

However, you are going to run into a problem if you wish to enter them in a themed contest. Multi-part stories aren't allowed in the themed contests as individual submissions.

What you'll have to do in this case is post the story as a whole in one submission. It will either need to be in one author's name or the other ( though you can link to the co-author's profile, as noted above ) or you'll have to create a new pen name for both of you.

There's no way for your author pages to share individual chapters of the story, the votes, or anything else.
