... either point me to the food good for poorly stomach's thread, or give me some suggestions?

We think I have (very mild) food poisoning and I feel horrid but need to eat something or I'll get worse.

And I have no chicken stock to make noodle soup.

i would say that crackers or toast.

we call that the brat diet
bananas
rice
applesauce
tea

its best for dyspepsia.

feel betterer soon. :rose:

If you're vomiting, you shouldn't have anything at all until it stops. Then try clear liquids, and if you can keep that down, try the BRAT diet.

Good luck. Hope you're feeling better soon. :rose:

Plenty of water as well as rest. Though solid food is good, water can ween your hunger just long enough for you to sleep it off. However, I'd reccommend calling a doctor in the morning for good measure. Get well soon :(!!!

My doctor will just cry >.<

Stopped vomiting, hence why I asked :) I leart the hard way not to even try eating until that stops.

Green tea seems to be settling it some along with some rye crackers. I may move up to a cup of OXO - We have no Bovril :(

You might try geting down a vitamin pill. When you can eat mainly tea and crackers, you don't get a lot of nutrients your body needs. Vitamins help, if you can hold the pill down.

Beware, this 'wisdom' is about four decades out of date...

Fat and protein work on a very long cycle - weeks.

Vitamins and minerals have an intermediate cycle - several days.

Both of the above thus have little if any relevance to your condition.

Carbohydrates work on a very short cycle hours or even minutes (depending on complexity) - simple sugars, like glucose and fructose are simply absorbed, they don't need to be digested.

Hence Lucozade and Ribena!

Get well soon, Helen. :rose:

good god are you a sadist?
vitamins on a poorly stomach? just fucking OUCH and SPEW

Vitamins AFTER the episode to replace what was lost not during :)

Potato soup.

Not widely known or used, but easy on the tummy.

You don't need the campbells kind or even instant potato flakes.

Take a potato or two, peel and boil, mash, add water to suit and micro for a minute.

You can add butter or top with grated cheese when you feel a lil better.

:D

I refuse to let my dad find out I'm ill. He'll be round with the Dialyte before I can say "no!". That stuff is evil.

Flat lemonade is good for replacing lost sugars.

and to that flat lemonade add a pinch of salt - morton lite to be actually specific- but plain ole salt will do... just sugars will make it worse...

potato soup... yep I have done that too but prefer milk and butter and onion and s/p...
Yoghurt plain with honey is good too
royal jelly - propolis will coat and sooth as well

Get well soon darling.:kiss::rose::kiss:
