Can someone tell me what the highest rating is?

I am a new Author and have only submitted one story so far. The rating I have gotten is 3.97. Is this good or bad?

Ratings go from 1 (bad) to 5 (good). I honestly have no idea what the average rating is, since I never visit the story section anymore.

It all depends. If your story gets targeted by jerk-offs, and your story is mostly intended to be good Erotica, then you can expect the disappointed rednecks to vote 1 or 2 for ya.

If your story gets targeted by Readers, and your story is an orgasm-guaranteed-in-two-minutes type of story, they'll either vote 1 or hit the back-button before they've even read half of it.

If you manage to attract the kind of crowd that likes the type of story you've written, you can expect 4's, in some cases 5's, if the story is good, and 3's if your language and grammar is poor.

For a good story, the average point is usually somewhere between 4.15 - 4.30.

Don't get caught up in what your story "rates". Write to write and learn - and always strive to improve.

Your style will never appeal to everyone - and thus, the vote rating will be very subjective at best. Combine your vote, if you must, with the feedback you receive and continue on.

The worst thing you can do is let your "rating" bring you down.

The highest rating is when you get a feedback from someone telling you how much they enjoyed your story and why.
