Can Someone Please Clarify Or Correct Me If I'm Wrong About This Issue...

If someone sends you a picture(s) whether it be a 35mm. pix, Polaroid pix, a drawing on a piece of paper, or even a webcam pix, is the person who recieved the pix not allowed to show his friends, family, some stranger ya just met on the street the pix if he/she wants too...

I mean a picture is a picture is a picture and if you take a picture of yourself or have one taken of you and send it to someone then you've willingly provided that person with something he/she can keep forever and if lets say the mailman comes by one day and has a few minutes to kill you can give the mailman a cup of coffee and whip out the photo album and let the mailman look at the pix without the consent or approval of the people or person in the pix, right?

What exactly are peoples rights once they willingly turn over pix to someone else...If I give someone a pix of me and that person shows another person the pix and I find out and get all pissed off about it...Is there really anything I can do since I gave that person the pix in the first place and didn't include some written contract where the person who recieved the pix had to sign on the dotted line and agree to never let another person see the picture...

I would think it's common curtesy not to show anyone the picture someone has given you unless they say they don't care or you ask permission first. I mean they gave it to you not everyone you know and I think this would apply especially under these circumstances (a BB at an erotica site).

I say if the pic was given to you and the person didn't say to keep things quiet. and it is apropriat to show others. (some things you shouldn't show you have to admit that)

you shouldn't be scared so long as you do it nicely.

If you are going through pics and that one comes up i see no problem. but if you have the picture and are running around showing every and anyone then i think that is inapropriat.

Then again this is only my opinions and Opinions are like assholes. everyone has one and they all stink but yours.

Since I'm always the last to know what's going on, I'll bite.

If I give someone a picture of me, then it becomes their property, they may then do with that pic what they see fit ... I may not like what they choose to do with it, but it's out of my hands. Like you said, no contract was written into, so therefore I let go of that picture the minute I hit the send button.

However, if someone were to give me a pic, then it's mine to do with as I please, the thing is I have enough discretion and would never pass it on with out the full approval of that person.

I guess it all comes down to who you give your Picture too, do you trust them enough to NOT pass the pic on?

However, if you've passed someone else's pic on, then I would think that rude and impolite of you, no matter what the situation. If someone gives you their pic be polite enough to respect them.

Just my thought's.

About 5 years ago I was living with this girl and we got wasted one nite and started taking polaroid pix of each other in all kinds of different ummm **cough cough** ways and after we split up I found out she had shown the pix to all her friends...

What can I do about it?

In that cercumstance she should have had the common sence to keep the pics to herself. Like i said some things should be kept privet whether you were told to or not.

KidRock1, sadly there is not a damn thing you can do about that, just deal with it and get on with your life. Again did you specifically say "Do NOT show ANYONE these pictures" ?

Also, if you had the opportunity KidRock1, would you have shown your friends? Just a thought is all.

*Bratcat* if you asked someone NOT to show the pic, then they shouldn't, no it's not a written contract BUT, you still gave the pic to them, and if you do that then sadly the pic may get sent on. Again if you have the slightest fear of them showing someone else, then don't send it.

Being on the Internet is a little different, once you send the pic to someone you THINK you can trust, you can pretty much say goodbye to ever knowing if that pic will stay with just them.

It would be interesting to see how many people had seen a picture of myself without me giving it to them or before posting my pics on another site.

I only keep certain pics, of VERY close friends, and then only facial pics, if they choose to send me others, then if we should stop talking I delete them all.

Again, it comes to trust, respect and honesty. The smallest sign of not having trust, don't send them.

Do you realize how many pix I have had forwarded to me without the person in the pix knowledge...

I mean whats the big hoopla about anyway...Ya take a freakin picture, give it to someone and then there's no telling who might see it...

If ya hate the pix that much then don't take them in the first place and by all means don't give them to someone...

It's not the point of not liking the pic, hell if that was the case then I wouldn't have any to send out.

Just learn to respect and trust, and if someone gives you a picture of themselves, say "Thank-you" and then delete it or put it somewhere and forget about it.

I'm sure you've had pics of yourself sent without permission Kid, and it isn't a nice feeling, but it's one that sadly we have to deal with.

TRUST people, do you maybe hand it out too easily over the net?

I know the same thing happens in RL too, but I guess you can control it a little better.

I traded 35mm. pix with a girl in Florida once that I sent her via the postal service 4 years ago and never got them back and she scanned them and put them on the internet...

What the fuck can I do about it...
