Loving Wives - Tales of adventurous married women & their mates

Is this supposed to be a category about the wives and their husbands (or wives) or is it supposed to be about the wives stepping out on their partners, with out without their them?

It's a place for masochistic writers to get the kicks they want.

That's the age-old question, from what I've seen since I've been on here. The category seems to have some stories of wives who actually love their husbands and do things for, with, and to them, but most of the stories seem to be either "swinger" wives, who play around on their husbands with hubby's knowledge and permission; wives who fuck other men in front of their husbands to humiliate hubby; or wives who just screw around (and are sometimes caught by their husbands, who are equally infuriated, humiliated, and aroused).

It's certainly the category that gets the most slams. Last year I wrote a 10-story series about a husband who tricked his wife into playing around with other men, then persuaded her to continue because he wanted to watch her with others. I got slammed by a lot of people who called the wife a whore, among other things, and accused her of breaking up her marriage- regardless of the fact that each story clearly explained that it was the husband's idea.

It's the broken category that desperately needs fixing. It needs to be split into two, maybe even three cats.

If your story is about a happy couple, put it in "loving couples."
If it's about happy adultery, put it in group sex.

If it's about vengeful ugly adultery, "loving wives" is where it goes. The cat name is either post-feminist sarcasm, or else ignorant sexism, I'm not sure.

I can: It's a quagmire of confusion.

You're welcome.

I tend to give Laurel and Manu the benefit of the doubt and suppose it was ignorant sexism to start with--that they got a lot of requests from men to read sexy stories about their wives (such requests for such stories show up frequently. They're usually something like, "I like a story about my wife having sex with other men....").

It got twisted along the way and now it's a very strange category that's less about the stories than it is about the discussion after the story. As if the stories are quick porn films used to galvanize a daily gripe session about what whores women are. Either way, it is sexism as it really should be "loving spouses" and allow for fantasies of both husbands and wives about husbands/wives.

It would be very difficult to seperate out the half-million stories that are in that cat, now. But it would be the work of a few hours to change the name of the cat. I suggest; "Adultery."

Agreed. I, and I'm sure many others, have suggested that it be split into Cuckholded Husbands, Revenge for Adultery and Loving Wives (with Happy Husbands). But since this hasn't happened, follow Stella's suggestions. It will save you much grief, if you are the least bit sensitive to the comments of others.

I suspect that the problem with the Loving Wives category does involve a split, but more likely a split personality. Most of the readers seem to have at least two personalities, each one nastier than the other. If a story has a wife cheating on her husband, she's a whore. If a story doesn't have a wife cheating on her husband, 'Why the hell are you wasting my time?' If the author writes a LW story without a gangbang scene, beware of men carrying rope! If the author writes a LW story with a gangbang scene, also beware of men carrying rope!

As a "third wave" feminist, I have to stay away from LW, lest I find myself slipping back to the "second wave." The discussions there sure show the worst side of men!

Yeah but when I entered into the Survivor contest, I have to venture there at least 2 more times ;). The comments really don't bother me but I want to make sure that I'm entering a story in an accurate category. I did put my comments on for my latest submission. I feel sorry for all these people who feel the need to call the woman a whore and I love the one where the idiot just assumes I'm a man. :D

Answer to heading question. I can't explain it.

Answer to the multiple choice question. No, probably, sometimes.

Overall answer. Whatever you think is appropriate to Loving Wives, a large number of people will think you've got it wrong.

Og (who wrote about wives who love their husbands and didn't cheat - That's definitely wrong! :D)
