ST. CATHARINES, ONT.—An Ontario woman behind the viral photograph of herself breastfeeding her child while sitting on Santa’s lap says she’s disappointed with the public reception she’s received.
Rebecca Dunbar says she had the picture taken mostly as a joke, but decided to post it in a bid to increase acceptance of the practice of nursing in public.
Dunbar says the reaction she’s received since she posted the picture to her Facebook page suggests that acceptance won’t come quickly.

I feed my little human wherever and whenever required and have never received any unwelcome reactions. I'm discreet if I am wearing something that allows me to be, but if not - tough titties - so to speak.

Photos like this don't help normalise breastfeeding, they sensationalise it.

I don't think the photo is an issue. But posting on Facebook and social media...did she just open her first Facebook account or something, to be surprised by the response.

She should post a pic of it here, all bruisy and shit. She'll get 1000+ post replies and a solid trolling by Andy Thrope.

Fuck off Lance.

I support public breast feeding not being a weird thing, but her actions were pretty weird.

There's no reason not to position a small towel or shawl or something over the strategic area.

When this supposed issue first came out many people assumed it meant breastfeeding in public WITH a small towel and minimum measure of discretion.

Yet, it turned out the lunatic left meant pull the boob out and flaunt everything in front of everyone including any kids around and do it anywhere in any public place and sue anyone who doesn't like it AND/OR sue or call the cops on any man who's glance might linger "too long" as well.

What some find weird, others find normal I suppose. And then they send a 5x7 to Aunt Mary and Uncle Joe, and post it on the book of Faces.

Looking back, was it a glance or were you staring? You're among friends.

It's probably a good thing this isn't a pic of her daughters to post on facebook ...
