Can Role Playing be Taught?

For me role playing is just too slow. I am probably not quick witted enough and it takes me time to write down my thoughts so if it takes me 5 minutes or longer to think of the next step and write it down and it takes her her 5 minutes to respond I would have lost any arousal over that 10 minutes or so. Now a role play in real life sounds much more interesting.

There are many different styles of RPing. In a chat waiting for 5 minutes for a two lines of reply will absolutely not work. But this is not the only way to go about it.
I did it in PMs or e-mails, when the time between installments was measured in hours, not minutes, but we both were writing much longer pieces. In one case it was his lead, he would write a scene out, send it to me, and I would rewrite the whole thing from my POV. Actions will be the same, thoughts and feelings very different. It took us about 10 days to finish that story... We were on very different schedules and in different time zones, so he usually got my installments first thing in the morning. He said that was the last thing he thought about going to sleep, so when he would wake up with morning wood and get to read my take on how his hands and lips and whatever else felt for me, and where I needed more from him, where I wanted a chance to give more... That was enough reading material to get him over the edge. Then he would go to work and in his evening write the next part, incorporating (or not) what he learned about me.

Play (role or not) with that particular guy did not sound more interesting at all because we would have a zero chance of meeting in RL.

Wow, this sounds so hot in my opinion. I’ve loved stories like this.

Im or chat play doesn’t work for everyone so sometimes emails like this example can be so exciting.

I've tried it a couple of times and it just went in a different direction that I had hoped. Maybe I just don't have the imagination that suits role playing.

part of writing and role playing is that it takes a life of its own once you begin. You may have an idea in mind and then as you get going, it moves differently than you thought. I had that happen today. You need to be able to roll with and adapt and enjoy the unexpected/

Personally, I consider myself a sapiosexual... I am very much turned on by intelligence and creativity. Looks take a back seat.

RP is an excellent litmus test for men with whom I will connect over the long haul. Anyone who can engross me, titillate me, and keep me coming back for more over time just through his words, is someone I want to hold on to and share myself with.

As to whether it can be learned... to some extent, yes. But only insofar as each correspondent developes his/her emotional intelligence alongside creative writing capabilities.
