Of course I am exposed to advertising but step back at advertising and look at the two main approaches to advertising(for the most part):

1) Agencies tend to take a humorous approach. Best way I can think of to exemplify this would be the Allstate commercials in America, they use the popular "mayhem" commercials, without them car insurance would be very dry and dull.

2) They use a person that their general target audience would find attractive to boost their sales. An example of this would be the GoDaddy commercials where they use scantily clad women and the promise of "uncensored" web content to lure in buyers.


Think about like this, as a straight guy, would you really give a shit about Victoria's Secret apparel if their models weren't wearing it or your partner was wearing it?
