Can alcohol cause one to become more affectionate?

I notice sometimes when I have been drinking I feel a little less inhibited.

Alcohol works directly on the part of your brain that controls inhibitions, so that makes sense. That's why most people tend to be a little more compliant and open to things when they've had a couple of drinks.

So, yeah, it's great for that. Unfortunately, it can interfere with erectile function if you drink too much, so there's a fine line there for those of us who are particularly sensitive to its effects (myself for instance).

Some nights I find myself thinking... ok, do I want to get drunk or do I want to have sex. It's not that I ~can't~ have sex when I'm drunk, just that sometimes it's not worth all the damn effort.

As monkeyMan says, yes it can. I'm a substance abuse conselor, & any drug can affect it in various ways.

I haven't had sex in years, but in the past if I had a couple of drinks I was able to last much longer while being inserted. Made me feel pretty good about myself.

Shakespeare said it all over 500 years ago. Something along the line of. Wine increases the desire, but takes away the ability.

That is interesting. I think just enough and the ability is still there.

it also not only affects males erectile capability and ability to orgasm - delays or prevents, but it has same effect on women - delaying or making orgasm more difficult.

Good question. It's true that a few drinks will make you feel less inhibited, and some of the kinkier things I've done in my life have been fueled and heightened by a good buzz. But there's a downside to everything, so too much is never a good idea. I had a friend who filled me in on his concept of "whiskey dick", which was his term for that rock hard boner you get and keep all night with a few drinks in you. Too much and you can't get it, but just enough and you can go for hours without coming. I learned to find that balance for years in my twenties, and had MANY great marathon nights because of it. The frustrating part of it is that at some point you finally DO want to come, and if you've had JUST a little too much booze, it just doesn't want to happen. Gotta be careful....

well i know i can't have too many or i am too goofy to be properly romantic

Well said. This reflects my feelings as well.

Same here. If I got drunk, I'd be as horny as a 13 year old who found his Dad's porn stash. But it would take forever for me to cum, if I did at all.

There is that very small window where you can get a really good buzz and still have unbelievable sex where the sensations are even peaked at a higher rate than if you were sober. It only happened to me once, but it was awesome.

My window is pretty wide so it mostly works very well for me, and my partner.

Nothing

effects the libido more then a man and woman, facing each other, undressing... seeing each other naked

I agree, a few drinks to let the inhibitions drop, but not enough to make anything else droop...

Also, I find if I've over-indulged the previous evening, I'm really horny the next day, if a little hungover...

The few times I have had over-indulged the next morning I felt like crap and was definitely not randy Hard to be sexy when you keep throwing up. Ha!
