I always enjoyed those movies. Maybe this comes up with something before the carnage takes place.

How about the story being about Jason's mother, when she was an 18-year-old camp counselor, before she had kids and went crazy when her son died. Maybe the guy she hooks up with is an escaped mental patient who's hiding out at the camp as a counselor he killed and took the place of. He hooks up with her before she finds out who he really is but it's too late and she's pregnant with Jason.
