I was reading along in "The Essential C & H" yesterday and came across this. Seems relevant considering all that is going on.

Before people lambaste me for criticizing our military action....relax....I cite this as a statement about the circle of strife that Terrorism begets.

*I split the scan to fit, not great quality*

*pushing mouse behind my skirts and attempting to shield him from the angry mob*

GET BACK! He was only trying to be funny! Don't you people see?

(I got it, mouse...and I smiled in a wry kinda way. Got any more?)

Yeah, I have more. My Ebay shopping spree yielded 3 new Calvin & Hobbes books. Thinking I may find disfavor if I post them all.

I'll be happy to criticize the shrub administration's violent response to the attacks of 9/11.

Innocent people are suffering in Afghanistan while the people responsible are no where near where the bombs are being dropped.

Because it's not about fighting terrorism. It's about oil, drugs, and implementing the New World Order of a globlal fascist gov't, army, and currency.

Here is one I saved that was pertinent to me (I sometimes hold in my sneezes - a bad habit I learned in the military to keep from calling attention to myself while in formation).

People have said I am not lazy. Well they don't know me very well. This particular strip is very much an illustration of how I feel most of the time.

Just wondering

How do you post these comics in living color? Does it mean you have a scanner?

Or did you save it from a web page and post it as an attachment?

By the way, here is a link to Calvin and Hobbs on line:

http://www.ucomics.com/calvinandhobbes/viewch.cfm

You will have to register with this website to view the comics

You have to pay now? It used to be that they were free, but they only had those up that were older than 10 years.

Huh.

Guess I'm glad to have snagged some of my favorites (this particular one pertinent to my Christmas whims... :p)

No pay

You don't have to pay to see the Calvin and Hobbes comics. Just register with ucomics.com.
And I think the archive of comics is from '95 to '99.

My post above was from a scan I did. If you look close you can see the ghost image of the backside of the page. I actually had trouble getting a balance of clarity, size, and small file size. I will have to tweak my scanner settings, the black and white ones are easier to do.

Thanks for the link, I am going to have to check it out.

One thing I truly resoect about Bill Waterson is that he never allowed Calvin and Hobbes to be marketed. No TV show, no clothing, figurines, etc. Granted, I would probably drop some cash on stuff, but it does allow the strip to stand on its own and it is all the better for it.
