Calling all Australians!

I'm working on a story about an American visiting Australia. The plot is so hum ho, but it'll do. The real problem is, I'm writing about a place I've never been to. I'm focusing mainly on Perth, but any help from anybody that's been to Western Australia would be much appreciated. Throw some details at me, look over the ones I've already decorated the plot with, or whatever...Anything would help at this point.

If you drop into the "Aussies" forum you will find that it is predominantly people from Western Australia. Just introduce yourself & you'll find they're a friendly bunch who welcome all visitors.
There's another forum called "The NSW Playground" which is only new but should get you some good responses as well.

As an American man who has visited Australia, and has met many Australians in the US, let me say you've chosen a fun people to write about.

I'd strongly suggest a research trip--they are very hospitable.

And, I remember hearing years ago, that an international women's magazine (might have been Cosmo) polled women world-wide and found Australian women the most likely to have sex on the first date.

Anecdotal and personal evidence strongly supports that.
