I'm contemplating starting a novel with a female protagonist who's an independent call girl.

She is contacted by a journalist who wants to do a story on the covert lives of call girls. She agrees (plot point 1 need to figure out) to do it. They meet a few times to do the interviews.

Reporter really likes CG, but she isn't buying it, assuming he's looking for a freebie. He convinces her to be friends (plot point 2 I need to work with) and she finds her attraction growing for him.

You get sex scenes via her clients.

But with the relationship between her and Reporter, you have the evolution of feelings, her own misgivings about her choices in life, and hopefully a happy ending.

I love the concept and I used to have clients I soon called friends who were escorts a few years ago. You really are hitting the nail onteh head as far as how they thnk and the general mistrust until true relationship can be established.

You might want to think of what kind of clients she would have as many of the upper end call girls tend to specialize in certain areas and such.

To be honest, the story evolved out my own fascination with call girls. I read a lot of sex worker and a few john blogs, have a membership at the erotic review, and have my very own resource for the john side of things in my husband (who used to occasionally see independent girls).

I feel like the story might be cathartic in a way as I discovered this whole other world after I was seeing my husband-I honestly feel like it's a missed opportunity.

Point #2 - How the CG became friends with the reporter....

The reporter gets the call girl's name from a friend of his who discusses a "date" he had with the call girl while they are having drinks in a bar. The reporter, in the initial conversation with the call girl (CG), tells her that he has covered the legal system for many years and has low friends in high places. When the CG is arrested for solicitation, she remebers the reporter and contacts him looking for assistance. While the prelimiany hearing is pending, the reporter and the CG has several occasions to speak with the CG, perhaps visiting his home. The charges against the CG are dropped, somewhat mysteriously. The CG becomes convinced the reporter is interested in the story, not a free "booty call" and they become friends. Over time, with more knowledge about the reporter - his wife tragically dying in a car accident caused by a drunk driver - the same cause of death as the CG's younger brother - her feelings for him intensify. The rest, is of course, yet to be written. My $.02 worth.
